Cable Thai Holding (CTH) & EPL 2013-2016

Post by Macca » June 16, 2013, 9:55 am

Has anyone had any success in finding a satellite (not cable) provider in the area that will provide the CTH package.

Emails, phone calls and messages on Facebook to CTH remain unanswered.

I was in the town center yesterday, had a look at main satellite places and didn't see any mention of CTH.

EPL requiers the rights holders to broadcast 17 games on free TV each season. CTH has sold these 17 games to MCOT.

There was also something on one of the CTH press releases weeks ago saying that people staying with the basic package would get one game a month (Aug - May = 10 matches) free.

Has anybody in Udon had their cable box installed yet or maybe a satellite system installed that is up and running? :?

You may get more replies if you ask who has won the "jackpot" on the Thai lottery

They didn`t start installing anything before Friday June 21st, so it will take a long time before all those who have ordered a box for cable or satellite will get it installed.

i talked to them and they refused to give a date for installation so as TIT we have to wait the pleasure of the bosses instead of the customer is individual!

On Phosri Rd, in a small guitar store across from Kasikorn and Bangkok Banks.....the owner is a partner in Udon Cable Co. He speaks excellent English. I spoke with his 2 days ago about the Cable Thai Holding satellite service. He told me, and confirmed with a business partner in Bangkok, that the company is still crossing the t's and dotting the i's with government authorities (not a small matter when it comes to any sort of broadcasting in this country). He said he hoped matters would be cleared up in the next month.
This is a country-wide thing.....not just affecting Udon (Udon probably small potatoes in the bigger picture). Keep your fingers crossed that they get proper authority soon.

Thanks for that parrot.
Maybe people can now understand why the 'girl in the office' cannot just pick up the phone & get an answer.. :D

From Udon Cable's customers viewpoint though it would have been worth while them printing off a Thai & English 'flyer' that could say what the situation was.
The office staff could then hand them out to any inquiring customers & at least there would be understanding of what the issues were...
Bad communications from a media organisation does not exactly inspire... :D

.
The amount of money CTH have invested in this and they appear to have a total breakdown in communication.
I have yet to see any marketing material in town, there is nothing on the web regards installation or packages in English.
Many Thais living outside of cable range would be interested in this but know nothing about it.

If anyone has any contacts in the FA can they ask them to delay the start of the season, I don't think we're going to be ready here.
UBC were expensive and upset a few people, but their standard of customer service and EPL coverage was outstanding. Comeback all is forgiven.

Bob, 'From Udon Cable's customers viewpoint though it would have been worth while them printing off a Thai & English 'flyer' that could say what the situation was'.........that'd be like True or AIS saying 'our signs say 3G, but don't believe our signs'

Excuse me Bob, but picking up the phone and coming back with the answer ........ "I'm sorry sir, it would appear that there is a problem with the legal paperwork between CTH and the govt, I'm sure it will be sorted shortly, but in the meantime, if you would like to leave your details and a phone number we will contact you as soon as we are able to answer your questions"......would have been perfectly satisfactory 4 WEEKS AGO when people were first asking and getting nowhere :-# =; :-# [-(

PS If a "partner" in Udon Home Cable speaks such good English, why the hell hasn't he been in the office and told the staff what to say during the last 4 weeks :-k After all it's HIS business that is getting the bad reputation

Yep, standard customer relations procedure in these parts.

or B,
The blank look on here face is because no one has bothered to tell her.

If you can't get information from the main office / web site, what chance of a regional office being able to help.

I think the reason is: he's a partner in the UDON part of Home Cable. CTH is a much bigger animal....countrywide, probably well above his paygrade as my boss in the AF used to like to say.

I'm as anxious as everyone else to cut my umbilical cord with UBC......but until CTH gets their act together, that's not going to happen. 10 deep breaths, jai yen yen.....when CTH dishes are in town, I'm sure we'll all know about it.

Parrot, that's exactly what I'm trying to say ..... The problem is with CTH, but it is "HIS PAY GRADE'S BIT" ie; Udon Home Cable that are getting the bad reputation because of their laid back, couldn't care less staff, that the people are meeting and having to deal with. If he either explained to his staff what to do and say to their customers or even just stuck an A4 bit of paper on the door with an explanation it would go a long way to soothing a lot of the feeling against UHC.

Couldn't wait for CTH, so reluctantly, just signed up for a new 6 month package with True. :(
If CTH get their act together I'll revert True to it's most basic package and have both.

A friend called in to the new CTH office in Pattaya and asked for the latest update on satellite system.

The staff were unable to offer any information as to when they would be ready to start installation.

My friend had heard that it will be mid September at the earliest, but this was from the man in the pub so we will see.

I wouldn't imagine the main sponsors such as Thai Air and Singha are going to be impressed, but I'm sure that fact cats at UBC will be finding it all quite amusing.
