A more somber view of Pattaya

Despite how rough or bad it seems to be in Pattaya at this time, for many, you don't here of any increase in crime and don't see outright looting or breaking into shops etc. Somehow, many Thais just seem to take it in their stride. Amazing

After all the tesaban efforts they never have be able to stop the flooding in Soi Buakhao .. this looks like the worst ive seen it.

I know it always looked different during the day but this stroll down Walking Street the other week is pretty depressing especially if you have fond memories of some of the places absolutely heaving with patrons.

Noticed Buzzin' did a tour of Jomtien on You tube, the place is decimated. Rode up Soi 6 and there wasn't anybody anywhere ...... not a happy ending in sight, the night market has been shut, and the Rompho beer bar complex looks like it may well not be there when we get to return (very run down)

Just one more disaster after another

Most people appear to be at home, tonight, when this has happened and they will arrive to work tomorrow, only to find they are knee deep in it again. You have to feel some sympathy for them.

A number of motorbikes are handle bar deep or swimming on their side.

I wouldnt fancy wading through that , sewage water ... Pattaya is doomed ... even the big blue ice heskey is trying to escape... though i note the 2 chang bottles at 4;30 were staying dry.

Soi Buakhao , Chaiyaphum have always flooded with a few hours heavy rain the problem has never been addressed properly and never will be cos its the "dirty" part of town .. gotta feel for residents and business operators how these can live and survive with this is head shaking.

Very sad to see the once great resort location go so downhill.

But, I think its proably a good time to consider opening the "Rent a Gondola Business" in Pattaya. They are bit smaller and will get through the more narrow Soi's

Apparently the whole incident was centred on the Nashaa Club which caters for Indian tourists. I thought this quite surprising looking at the pictures which seemed to be a lot larger area.

Estimated cost of damages is in the millions of baht

Looks like millions of bahts worth of improvements. Early reports say the Indian club was absolutely heaving at the time and it's reckoned somebody knocked over a cooking stove.

Ok its not Pattaya, but Phuket, actually Patong

From yesterday/todays video, by this gentlemen, it is showing some signs of early life.

It doesn't appear to be as drab as before, but still a long ways to go to get back to the Patong of old Amazing what a little smell of Booze and some music, can do.

The Kicker for me coming, was simply the reduction of the quarantine period from 14 to 7 days
