Yes - Commonwealth countries tend to take judicial notice of legal decisions made by fellow members.

It seems that Canada has been somewhat of a leader with "whacky" decisions in the past few years - perhaps one of our Canuck brethren could comment.

On the main issue - if you take up more than 1 seat, you should pay. If that means double food and baggage allowance, so be it.

You'd think the airlines would wise up and provide bigger seats and more space. They don't care about the person who has to sit next to a person who doesn't fit into their tiny seats. The fault lies with the airlines not the people who purchase a ticket.

If they are willing to sell you a ticket you should expect accommodation, not a request for additional payment because you're big.

Thanks for that info, jack. I had no idea that the Commonwealth tended to "overlap" in the courts. Interesting.

And I agree with the recent "whacky" decisions that have come out of the Great White North.

how are the airlines going to establish someones size at the point of sale of the ticket ? most tickets are purchased in advance , through travel agents or on line . i think its only fair that if someone who cannot fit into thier seat they should either pay for first class , that have larger seats or indeed pay for two seats , as they tend to occupy two anyway . believe me its no fun sitting next to a lard arse for 10 plus hours if they are spewing over into your space !!!! if your slightly overweight with your baggage then you pay extra . so why not have to pay extra if you lack self control over what you put down your neck !!!!! =; =; =; =;

There is always business class! The seats are more isolated from each other.

With some its an illness glands or something.
And very good jimbo.."Worldwide News"

Maybe the airlines could have a couple of 'special' seats in economy extra wide maybe just 2 or 3 for the larger flyers a little extra on price of course,(business/first is too pang) would have to be in the middle of the plane purely for balance, remember we are all gods children.

Yeah!!And then they could have some free seats for the poor also,sign interpreters for the deaf,guidance counselors with meds for the mentally impaired etc.etc..Of course others without physical and mental impairments can have the priveledge of paying for the ''extras'' provided .We so much appreciate the opportunity to serve :yikes:

Deaf people already travel around ok, Mental people may or may not be allowed to fly but i am sure they would have a carer with them especially if they did need Meds and stuff, and the Poor probably won't fly as they probably won't hold a passport or afford the Holiday/leisure trip at the other end.(a bit like some of us with the low exchange rate).

But Extra Large passengers need extra seat space....there is no way 'round' it, extra space means extra charges.

That would make no difference to balance of the plane.The Trim is adjusted accordingly.If you ever see the ammount of cargo that a 747 takes you would never believe it would leave the ground!
