Re: US unemployment record
I heard a NZ economist predicting 15 to 30% unemployment in New Zealand and we too had a giant stimulus package to help employers. The problem is many employers do better by not taking the government money and simply making staff redundant. It's a great opportunity to have a bit of a clean out among employees.
Poor Mr. Trump. No wonder he wants Americans back at work well before November.

The problem is if people do not have income they can not spend. Lay everyone off and it all stops as well as causing a major breakdown in society. People with no money and food get dangerous.

If nothing else this virus is showing us just how fragile our civilization has become .
Financially , medically , food supplies , ect , ect . The only thing that appears to be normal is communications , yet still people are not listening !!!!!
Make no mistake the effects and costs of this crisis will last generations .
The planet has not been in this much mess since WW 2 .

True. Just think all those Billions, if not Trillions wasted on the Arms build up and who has the biggest D.ck in each Country and along comes a little virus, that none of the Superpowers can cope with or defeat at this time.saint wrote: ↑March 27, 2020, 8:25 amIf nothing else this virus is showing us just how fragile our civilization has become .

If just 10% of the money spend on Arms over the past 10 years had been devoted to virus or bacteria research and or related possible cures, the World might have been prepared or at least in a better position to deal with it. They are lucky that this virus came from this planet and not from another one.

Off Topic - Too bad 3BB haven't been told. Over the last 3 days down to "Snail Mail" speed and that's only when I can get a connection. Waiting for the "Internet" indicator to start flashing again before I can post this.

Re: US unemployment record
IMHO Unemployment is going to be a World Wide problem of huge proportions. Eventually the masses will not tolerate it and mayhem will pursue with desperate providers not being able to tend the needs of their families.
Still think Trumps assessment of a few days ago may be right:- "The cure could be worse than the disease."

Hmm, 3BB seems more than fine from my location.
