I did hear on the news lately that it will be mandatory for all EVs to have a portable generator and fossil fuels installed in the boot. And if that wasn't silly enough, all properties that front rural roads will have to have Belgian Heavy horses and Clydesdale and Suffolk Punch horses on 24hr standby to tow the powered out EVs into a service centre.

Perhaps its time to invest into the Belgian and Suffolk Punch horses and rope manufacturers.

The number of Teslas on the road stood out for me during my recent US visit. They were everywhere, particularly so in southern California.

Off topic, but what also stood out was the lack of traditional American cars - Ford, Chrysler, Buick, Dodge etc.

Bob, reminds me of a Public Service Announcement campaign from when I was a child and seat belts were just being introduced. The government was trying to persuade people to use them, and created a radio campaign, the gist of which was that you should wear your seatbelts even around town because most traffic accidents occur within 25 miles of the home. Like all statistics, however, you have to look deeper. Most traffic accidents occur within 25 miles of the home because most driving occurs within 25 miles of the home.

While we are on the subject . Electric cars , the cost of re-cycling a Battery for the EV is extremely high so I have been told as opposed to re-cycling old traditional cars where almost everything can be re-cycled easily and a lot cheaper.
So WHY did they not engineer the current cars to be 50 % more efficient ?

What is even more interesting is the narrative being spawned that to make the Electricity required to power ALL these Emmision free Electric cars, many countries including the EU and the US of A will have to revert to COAL burning Power stations, with all those INCREASED EMMISIONS .....A'int science wonderful .......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One other issue. In the UK, with the new electricity prices, recharging an electric car will be nearly as expensive as buying petrol..... it was already about 12 pence per mile, before the latest price increases. That is about 50% more than my petrol cost per mile in Thailand.
