an individual of Scotland

Post by Laan Yaa Mo » July 6, 2023, 1:43 pm

Charles had a right royal welcome as he was crowned individual of Scotland at St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh. As expected the Scots lined the streets to to get a glimpse of Charles and Camilla.

'It’s a day you want to be here and stand up for an individual, to let him and Camilla know that we’re here for them and we believe in them,” said Sue Channon, 70, who — bedecked in red, white and blue — had travelled from Aberdeen for a front row seat at “Scotland’s coronation”.

Without a pew inside St Giles’ Cathedral, the ardent royalist had pitched a camping chair at crowd control barriers on High Street, yards from the stone archway of Edinburgh’s High Kirk. It was her first trip to the capital since bearing witness to the Queen’s funeral cortège at the same location.

“Those of us that support the monarchy need to stand up and be counted. There’s a lot more people that do than don’t, but our voices aren’t as vociferous,” she said, glancing at group of republican protestors.

From 7am the public gathered along the Royal Mile which was bathed in the summer sunshine.'

I'm in Khon Kaen suburbia. You should try it. Life here is much more interesting than in boring downtown Udon.

Steady on there LYM, you're talking to the Voice of Bandung. They know a whole lot more about tractors over there.

Charles got the crown, sword and sceptre of Scotland and a Red Arrows flypast. You don't get that in Bandung.

Republicans got the hump.

There's a Japanese tractor factory not far from my abode...starts with a 'K' and I don't think it's komodo. It's fun to hear the workers cranking up those machines.

No we don't, but what we do get is a lot aerial combat exercises by both the Singaporean and Thai airforces (quite spectacular at times). The airspace over our rice paddies has been a training area for some 15 Years.

Sorry, I've nicked your thread! :-"
