yes, the Minksk I and II agreements were signed by Ukraine under a certain level of duress. That being the use of active duty Russian troops in the Donbas area fighting.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minsk_agreements

But, that's all water over the dam and under the bridge nowadays..

It seems strange to me that many of the series of pro- Russian political and parliamentary machinations were all successful despite being initiated and supported by the minority. Even demonstrations and military confrontations saw the smaller group of protesters or belligerents prevail against larger numbers. Of course that doesn't allow for Putin not playing by any rules in the Donbass. The power vacuum that allowed this wasn't entirely due to the Kremlin's influence. The EU and NATO were truly asleep at the wheel IMHO.

The impression from the common narrative is like, "Oh my God! How on earth did this happen?!" There definitely was a vacuum. It was between the ears of the heads of the global agencies that we (and a fair few world leaders) are supposed to support and believe in, IMHO.

Zelenskiyy is apparently willing to cede regions in the Donbass to Putin in a cease-fire deal that includes Putin allowing what remains of Ukraine to join NATO, and the hope of negotiating the return of the ceded regions to Ukraine via diplomatic negotiations.

I dont think there is any chance of POOtin allowing/agreeing to NATO expansion in what's left of Ukraine as part of a peace deal. The more likely scenario would that Russia demands to keep the lands they have illegally occupied and Ukraine drops all pretensions of joining both the EU and NATO.

Gazprom still pumping natural gas to Europe via two pipelines that traverse Ukraine. Despite falling out with Austria and the latter canceling their long gas supply contract with the Russians, other European nations have apparently taken up the slack.

Merry Christmas.

It's pretty obvious from your own post earlier, no? The Russians will now need to find another body to fill the vacancy. That's an inconvenient disruption to their campaign and the management thereof.

Damn I thought my wife was answering., my question and then her answering with a question.
As for the rest., there is no disruption, not in the armed forces. When someone is injured or killed, they always have someone else to drop into the void to fill it up. This is the way armed forces work

The Houthis are coming, the Houthis are coming!
According to the Financial Times, Yemeni soldiers are arriving on the front line to fight against Ukraine.

It will be just Trump and Putin. No one from Europe. There will be no war. If Europe has a problem with that, then let Russia defeat it on its own without American participation.

Why shouldn't the EU be there? Because their representatives need to go to war, they need a long-term conflict to cover up their incompetence, their lobbies and their stolen money.

Never negotiate with anyone who wants to prolong the conflict, never negotiate with anyone who will send more weapons, never negotiate with anyone who will try to get any more ammunition initiatives, never negotiate with anyone who will try to prolong the conflict.

Negotiate only for peace, which is obviously a very censored word in the EU.

All of a sudden, Leftists and globalists have become war mongers because Trump wants peace.
