In a series of tweets on TwitX, Zelenskyyyyyyy says:

1. He is now ready to do the minerals deal
2. The minerals deal is not enough of a security guarantee from the US
3. The war would be “difficult” without the US

Trump was clear: the minerals deal was the security guarantee.

Even with these posts, I can’t imagine Trump inviting him to return to the White House for quite some time.

Trump is NOT putting troops there and not committing anymore funds there.

Zelensky, like most other intelligent, sane and rational people on Earth, understand (from years and years of evidence) that Trump is an unmitigated liar, as is Putin.

If the EU is paying any attention, they should collectively, and quickly negotiate and sign the same Ukrainian rare earth materials "deal" that Trump craves. Then, if America really wants them, they need to provide iron-clad security guarantees, including much more materiel, and whatever else is needed to ensure Ukraine doesn't totally succumb to Russia.

The events of the past hours - the public humiliation of Zelensky at the White House, Trump’s acknowledgment of Zelensky's diplomatic failure, and Ukraine’s loss of unconditional U.S. support - have marked the final act of the regime's collapse.
But Zelensky has not only failed in foreign policy - he has driven the country into a state where anyone who disagrees with his course faces repression.

I was thrown into prison not for a crime, but for speaking the truth. The very truth that Trump has now stated: Zelensky has lost. He has no cards left to play, he is running out of soldiers, and the country has reached a dead end due to his stubbornness.

I demand the immediate convening of an emergency session of the Parliament, where Parliament must initiate impeachment proceedings against Zelensky for:

- the failure of foreign policy, which has led to Ukraine's international isolation and the loss of allied support.
- a lost war, which is the result of incompetent leadership and catastrophic decisions.
- violations of citizens' rights and the usurpation of power, manifested in the suppression of the opposition, persecution of dissenters, and authoritarian rule.

I appeal to all Members of the Ukrainian Parliament: stop wasting time, stop waiting! Zelensky is bankrupt. Zelensky is not Ukraine! It is time to put him on trial. If he cannot offer a real way out of the crisis, then it is up to us to make fateful decisions.

Zelensky thought he could rule Ukraine through force. Now he has lost.

Ukraine must decide - will it continue its freefall into the abyss, or will it begin the fight for true independence?

He is also said to own a substantial amount of real estate and a number of exotic cars.

Actually, I said none of these things.

And some of them are demonstrably false. Say what you want about Vance, but he's anything but an idiot. And Trump does like and admire Putin, as he said during his first term. Eggs are still expensive, and getting more so.

We didn't learn from his first term.

He said he wouldn’t have time to play golf if elected president. But he made more than 250 visits to his golf clubs during his first term at a taxpayer cost of hundreds of millions of dollars.

He said he would repeal the Affordable Care Act, and replace it with something “beautiful.” But he has yet to reveal what his plan is.

He said corporations would use their tax cuts to invest in American workers. They didn’t. Corporations spent more of their tax savings buying back shares of their own stock than increasing workers’ wages.

He promised to be “the voice” of American workers. He wasn’t. His administration stripped workers of their rights, repealed overtime protections, rolled back workplace safety rules, and turned a blind eye to employers who steal their workers’ wages.

He said hydroxychloroquine protects against coronavirus. But it didn't. The FDA revoked its emergency authorization due to the drug’s potentially lethal side effects.

He promised to eliminate the federal deficit. He has increased the federal deficit by more than 60 percent.

He said he would hire “only the best people.” He has fired a record number of his own Cabinet and White House picks, and then called them “whackos,” “dumb as a rock,” and “not mentally qualified.” Six of them were charged with crimes.

He promised to bring down the price of prescription drugs and said drug companies are “getting away with murder.” They still are. Drug prices soared, and a company that got federal funds to develop a drug to treat coronavirus is charging $3,000 a pop.

He promised to protect Americans with pre-existing conditions. His Justice Department tried to repeal the entire Affordable Care Act, including protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

He promised to lock up Hillary Clinton for using a private email server. He didn’t. Trump uses his personal cellphone for official business, and several members of his own administration, including Jared Kushner and Ivanka, used private email in the White House.

He promised “six weeks of paid maternity leave to any mother with a newborn child whose employer does not provide the benefit.” Never happened.

He promised to enact term limits for all members of Congress. He hasn't even tried to enact term limits.

After pulling out of the Paris climate accord, he said he’d negotiate a better deal on the environment. He never even tried to negotiate any deal.

He promised that the many women who accused him of sexual misconduct “will be sued after the election is over.” He didn't. Perhaps he doesn't want details to come out.


This isn't to say that I oppose everything he's done. The Iran agreement was terrible for us, and he was right to withdraw. Deporting illegal aliens? Far too long in coming. Biden was unquestionably asleep at the switch on this.

The country will survive the next four years undoubtedly, but if we're going to have an alternate choice in 2028, the Dems had better get their act together.

Thing is I've struggled to find much information about Ukraine's rare earth's. How much do they actually have?.
Are they actually worth mining. Like there is gold just about everywhere on the planet, much of which is not worth the effort of recovering. Looking up it seems china has 40% of the reserves, and the list goes on , Thailand, Myanmar are on the list, America is on the list with 5% But Ukraine must be low as no information at all.
I agree, Europe has no oil, coal , uranium. Be good to get our hands on them for sure. Just need to fight to the last Ukrainian and then help them out by snatching their resources once they are crushed.
