Was someone talking about word-salads earlier?tamada wrote: ↑January 25, 2024, 4:03 pm
There's no consistent correlation between size of a nations' population and the strength of that nations' sphere of influence. Even when you start adding up their individual military strengths, there's no extrapolated rule-of-thumb that dictates their place or "who wears the pants" in the regional or global house. What is obvious though, regarding the subject under discussion, the USA both in population and military strength, is 'over there' and handily well-distanced from most all the world's conflict zones. A bit like Australia, for that matter. Damn you geography!
Or was that on a different thread?

Re: NATO
I did not say Russia stopped fighting (or flighting).
I said "Russia hasn't been fighting "tiny Ukraine" since about three weeks into their offensive. ..." That is NOT saying Russia has stopped fighting.
I hope this provides the clarity you seek.

Garrulous. Splendid choice. Well done with the quick synonym search. Now go tell someone who cares.jackspratt wrote: ↑January 25, 2024, 8:48 pmI would be looking elsewhere if I were seeking clarity.
The word salads - or is garrulous a better word - do confuse me.
Hold on... yes that's right. It's Thursday isn't it? It's off-topic night.
So here's as good a place as any to wish anyone interested a Happy Burns Night!

Re: NATO
no worries Tam, I got it.. Russia hasn't been fighting tiny Ukraine since 3 weeks into the operation, they've been fighting Ukraine backed by the arms of NATO and the EU... Which of course to ol' Vlad just ain't fair..
