I am always amazed when articles are written indicating that horrors existed during wartime. People don't kill each other nicely They are trained and execute orders to kill or be killed.
War, murder, maiming, torture will always exist as long as there are living soles on earth.
A Shadow of Darkness From Australia.
Re: A Shadow of Darkness From Australia.
Here goes JS again speaking from the safety and comfort of his lounge chair, about the alleged atrocities of people who protect us daily from the dangers of people who are hell bent on trying to destroy countries and western civilised nations.
They do not have the comfort of sitting in lounge chairs, they are there to try and reign in dangerous people, like Police forces around the world.
A story from the bbc. The Oz abc ran a similar story a while ago, and after an inquiry was held, it discredited the story saying it was based on lies. I hope a similar finding is found with the bbc story.
If the time ever comes, I certainly would not be comfortable with JS behind me in the trenches.

To the contrary, Sport - they do have the comfort of sitting in a lounge chair if they make that choice.
ps just highlighting alleged illegal acts (ie murders) that have been reported from this official inquiry, in a thread which is primarily about Australia special forces allegedly doing similar things.
That seems to make you uncomfortable - perhaps you can't see a pattern with these "elite" forces.
Re: A Shadow of Darkness From Australia.
As usual Pratty likes to post articles from Left Wing media outlets without actually reading the articles he is basing his extreme biased leftie views.
The whole article is based on views and opinions of another Special Forces units readings of the SAS reports. Not one 'on the job' piece of evidence, just opinions and arse covering from office wallah's.
The BBC decide to air an article based entirely on conjecture, same as repeating Hamas propaganda as factual.
Taxpayer funding should be removed from them and then perhaps it would stop being a home for every champagne socialist in the strange country named Londonistan.

Perhaps you should read up on the normal role of "elite" forces.
They are normally used in the most dangerous, clandestine operations. Going into 'bad' places to kill/capture normally 'very bad' people.
Elite forces are trained to very high standards especially in action where speed of action and accuracy are their main means of survival in most tasks.
Remember back to the Iranian Embassy hostage rescue, there were hand wringers questioning why there was not many live arrests of the terrorists. Similar questions were asked after many IRA terrorist actions.
Seems that political leanings dictate your views as to whether they are the cutting edge of the Governments abilities to combat terrorism or state funded murderers.
If these gallant warriors start being thrown under the bus by shiny arsed backstabbers then the elite forces might just start having some recruiting problems.
Quick question, how many times do you see the Special Forces in the Good old US of A being hung out to dry.
