I thought this thread was about torture not about good or bad muslims / LL i agree with most of your post
but I do not believe muslims had any thing to do with 9/11 but they are being blamed and IMHO
it all about OIL

Muslims didn't have anything to do with 9/11? Give me a break. What cave have you been living in? They were all muslims.

M/S you have your beliefs and I have mine I believe it was inside job. but that old news on my part I
expressed in here many times & I will not go down that road again but if you want to debate me we can meet and debate face to face and I can explain to you why I take that avenue

Probably from those that think and think and think and think until their main concern and thoughts are politcal correctness!

#-o

Theres nothing politically correct about locking up innocent people for the sake of revenge and anger, or is there?

So out of 100 rag heads there are statistically 2 who are baddies, so under your analagy stan lets lock them all up cos they must be all guilty cos they are rag heads!!! Do you not understand that all that you achieve is 98 enemies who would otherwise be friends or at least tolerate you??? And then each one makes 10 others become enemies and so on until you are where you are today or we are today!!Is it too hard to grasp???

You dont have to be better than them stan but if you choose to be the same as them then you cant complain about terrorist acts made against your fellow country men can you because this then becomes an acceptable practice!! So yes we do have to be better than them or we will just turn into the animals that they are!!!!!
I don't think there were any innocents among those in Gitmo, just different degrees of involvement.periphery supporters are not innocents. And if a few ,that put themselves in combatant situations or had connections to terrorists without cooperating to stop or apprehend the terrorists, are lost in the mix,so be it !Our security and the expedious collection of information is worth the all out effort!

It has been practiced by opposing forces in every war of history. To pretend it hasn't is hypocritical,to not do it is assinine amd detrimental to winning the conflict or preventing further devastation by small terrorist cells!

The cry of''we are just creating more people that hate us''is irrelevant to the conflict, because those of the philosophic persuasion are never going to love/like us even if we capitulate to their demands(I am not talking about Muslims in general,I am talking about Islamic extremists whose goals are our destruction and submission to their ideals)

"I don't think there were any innocents among those in Gitmo, just different degrees of involvement" sorry stan but you are mis-informed, there are innocents in gitmo, they have just been locked up without the chance to seek justice of any kind and tortured in many cases!! Surely it reflects on the USA the fact that they have locked people up for no reason other than they are muslim, or have a beard or they have been bought from another person with a beard who says they are bad!!! Its bloody comical, you call this civilised!!! its a joke!!

Judging by the reaction of some americans on here i dont wonder why you have such problems now...

We even saw this mentality in the elections with people calling "Kill all muslims" but then again these people actually dont know what a muslim is!!! Obama was supposed to be a muslim, or lets say most repulicans believed the propaganda they were being fed!!!! So no wonder some of you show so much hatred and intolerance to a basically good people on here!!!

And LL you are a guest in a country that has a large population of muslims, im sure that fact will change your mind about living here. why not go home and defend your country instead of procrastinating here????

As far ,we should only take prisoners to extract info from, the rest them can die and whether I am agreed with,I could care less,it is how I feel!Extract enough info from enough prisoners by any means will eventually get the right and correct info from cross referencing!
Torture the lot,then kill em,just as they do us!Piss on PC! [-( Revenge is great justice,we can forgive them after they are dead! =;
Charming! Stan, I thought better of you than that.

Giving 2 seconds thought to anyone but yourself.

Do you remember what you wrote about global warming? - not whether or not it exists, but the fact you basically couldn't give a ---- about the impact on future generations.

 Well, obviously you don't know me,which is fine with me :D
And I don't believe I said that quite the way you have put it,because that is not how I think. If you can prove me wrong there, maybe you would like to post the quote!Otherwise I will assume you are just making another bias rant and file it!

I apologise Stan. My memory has deserted me. The comments I attributed you to above re global warming were made by another.

In which case, the 2 second comment is also out of line.

mmmmmm , who else does that remind me of :-" :-" :-" as for torture , well its been happening since the beginning of time , especialy in the theatre of war . by the bad guys and the good guys . bit like human sacrifice in war i guess . i personaly dont agree with it as we are not animals , but if the end justifies the means it will always continue . these fanatics will take any action to prove thier point , and if it down to them being tortured or innocent people dying , well no contest . they are at war with us , and war is ugly !!!!!!!

War is ugly. Yes. And when you react with brutality, you increase hatred. Hatred breeds more war, more brutality. Maybe as many as half of those detained at Guantanamo were not fighters or active participants in Alqueda or the Taliban. After years there, they will not forgive easily. Each of them had families, friends. It does not take the experiences of many such people to change the sympathy of a whole community. Once you have lost all support from the local population, you have a problem. You cannot treat everyone as a hardened terrorist, unless you want them to become them.

Sorry Seymour,,,, this comment seems to be an indication of your attention to detail and general fact-acquiring capabilities. My posts clearly indicate I'm currently in Virginia and I'm going to be here awhile until some family issues are cleared up. I wish I was able to be there and we could have a good debate "mano el mano" :D After a couple of cold ones we may even agree to disagree, eh? By the way, I believe I posted somewhere there are many many muslims here and they have my full respect and defense under the law,,,,,, If they respect our laws and customs. I don't think that's too much to ask. Cheers,, LL
