America coming apart at the seams?
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
If "Black lives matter" protesters are killing black people, destroying businesses, infrastructure and historical memorials, etc,
do you honestly think that the majority of people are going to back them?
I'm disgusted at their behavior, so many others will be too.
People aren't that stupid.
Once the media gets bored with it, and finds something else more exciting, that will be it.
It will be forgotten in a month, same has been done in the past.

The more they riot, destroy and loot, the more certainty of a Trump re election.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
FYI: The autopsy found that he died of heart failure.
"Asphyxiation not the cause of George Floyd's death: Autopsy
George Floyd died Monday from a combination of preexisting health conditions exacerbated by being held down by Minneapolis officers, not from strangulation or asphyxiation, based on the medical examiner’s initial report.
Preliminary findings from a Tuesday autopsy conducted by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner found “no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation,” according to the criminal complaint filed Friday against former officer Derek Michael Chauvin.
“Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease,” said the complaint from the Hennepin County Attorney. “The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.”

Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Phew! That means the old activist guy, who's scalp was split when his head was bounced off a Buffalo sidewalk after being pushed backwards by a cop, had the pre-existing conditions of being old and liable to tripping over his own feet and the push by the cop was only a contributing factor.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Does sound very similar to the huge black guy who died of pre-existing conditions and not from being crushed by five, puny white cops a few years back.TJ wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 8:49 amFYI: The autopsy found that he died of heart failure.

The protesters will amend their shouted mantra accordingly to, "Black lives matter unless they have pre-existing medical conditions while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and suspected of committing a misdemeanor!... Black lives matter unless they have pre-existing medical conditions while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and suspected of committing a misdemeanor!..

Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Well perhaps the old activist guy should have used some common sense and taken prevailing conditions into account instead of acting like a bullet proof twenty five year old.tamada wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 9:05 amPhew! Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Had the old guy moved out of the way, he would not have needed a shove. After watching the video, it really wasn't a violent shove. He was a big clumsy guy who refused to move out of the way. On the other hand, the guy with the cop kneeling on his neck, the cop was way out of line and he should have never been a police officer. The union protected him from being fired for problems in the past.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Then he wouldn't be much of an activist would he? He would be more like just another common and garden internet forum boor, no?cjd01 wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 9:17 amWell perhaps the old activist guy should have used some common sense and taken prevailing conditions into account instead of acting like a bullet proof twenty five year old.tamada wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 9:05 amPhew! Don't know have to rely on your obvious knowledge on the subject but must be so.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
The solitary old guy, with all the acknowledged frailties that come with age, didn't really need to be shoved in the first place. I would think that this is already covered in the police force's crowd control and management training. Maybe it isn't. Either way, it looks like the local police union (and fellow officers) are backing the Buffalo Association of Old People Pushers (current membership of two).glalt wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 9:43 amHad the old guy moved out of the way, he would not have needed a shove. Did you see the video last month of the old Thai guy who was confronted by the younger Thai in a road-rage, backing-up and parking altercation? The younger guy pushed the older guy in the chest, not too hard and guess what?... the old guy was unable to turn around quickly enough to find his feet, tripped, fell and struck his head hard on the ground. I believe he eventually died from the head trauma. The young guy drove off but, being the son of a local cop apparently didn't save his butt.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
NO it should be elected by the proper means, but the question on everyones lips is WILL the Current president leave if he loses or try to get a another Election just because he may be able to, the question I posed was, Would the American Public sanction thatcjd01 wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 7:47 amKP
Whilst it may be the popular view that protests (riots, looting, arson and destroying of others property and business) should be the cause for an elected President or Prime Minister to resign they'll be falling like dominoes.
There is an election due and perhaps only perhaps the American people should cast their judgement on Trump.
If he is not reelected so be it The People have spoken should it be any other way?

Just to get this clear
If you're 75 years old with frailties because you have a rush of blood and because it's ok to resist officers in the execution of their duty.
The officers who and I might add have had deaths and injuries from these peaceful protesters should just allow you and anyone else to impede them.
Is that your view?

Sorry don't understand the question "what another election"
isn't there one in November?
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
The BPD officers supposedly have the training, equipment, experience and ability to detain, restrain and arrest anyone who is non-violent and non-compliant, regardless of their activism, age or associated frailties.cjd01 wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 10:35 amTamadatamada wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 10:13 amThe solitary old guy, with all the acknowledged frailties that come with age, didn't really need to be shoved in the first place. Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Officers should protect everyone inc peaceful protesters from harms way, not create harm. A old person goes down easy when shoved, even gently.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
You missed out the part about signing up for being murdered and attacked by anything at hand.
I personally wouldn't want to be an police officer in these peaceful protests
Mission statements are great to put on the wall and then reality steps in.

The usual waffle , protesters protest , rioters riot . What the moron supporters seem to be saying is Americans have the right to protest as long as they can take a god beat down .

Re: America coming apart at the seams?
Why would anyone worry about being at a peaceful protest .. except the protesters . They don't carry guns, shields, pepper spray ,rubber bullets ,body armour and clubs , protesters normally carry a cardboard sign for protection

Sorry your correct there definitely not peaceful protests, your description of peaceful protests is spot on.papafarang wrote: ↑June 8, 2020, 11:11 amWhy would anyone worry about being at a peaceful protest .. except the protesters . I note there's not too many there with cardboard signs.
Re: America coming apart at the seams?
No. It's included in the "serve and protect" bit of pretty much any police force. Agree that policing isn't for everyone but if some are unfit to serve or protect and only see the badge and gun as an enabler of their own misunderstanding or distortion of the oath they swore to, those are the ones that need to give up their day (or night) job.
