Another stupid criminal story.
Police: Bank robber nabs $3K, leaves wallet behind
AP
Fri May 8, 9:04 pm ET
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police didn't have to dust for fingerprints to find this suspect — they just rifled through the wallet he left behind at the scene. Albert Vincent Perkins was charged with robbing First Federal Bank in Kansas City on Thursday. Police said he walked into the bank, handed the teller a plastic bag and ordered her to give him all of the $100 bills. Then he walked out of the bank — but left his wallet sitting on the counter.
The U.S. attorney's office said the teller and a customer in the bank identified the photo on the driver's license and another photo in the wallet as the robber.
Perkins was arrested Thursday night. Police say he took about $3,100.

Only in San Francisco...Masturbate-a-thon
Website for wannabe participants of next year's event:From the press release: "This year’s winners packed some serious heat. A new US record was set by Mr. Flint Greasewood at 1.75m, a few centimetres more than the previous record. His swimmers went the distance, shooting a whopping five feet. Two world records were set, as well. The "Lusty Lady Theater" beat the "Women’s Tag Team" in the "Playing the balalaika together", and Mr. Masanobu Sato (in his daytime job boss of a japanese video game company) broke his own masturbation world record at nine hours and 58 minutes." In the darkened "Masturbatorium", selected people had the opportunity to watch parts of the exhausting activities.

Channel 4 made a documentary of the event, that is yet to be released on TV due to difficulties with conservatives. Check out the video clip at this link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oORynpjNXkg. This year Copenhagen, Denmark will be hosting its first Masturbate-a-thon event. We look forward to seeing what records the Danish can break!

Texas Couple to Face Murder Charge for Shotgun Blast at Car that Killed Boy
Sign Outside Home of Gayle and Sheila Muhs Warns 'Survivers Will Be Reshot'
Gayle and Sheila Muhs gave trespassers a blunt warning. They posted a large sign outside their Texas home saying trespassers would be shot and survivors would be shot again.
Texas couple opened fire on alleged tresspassers
Police say Gayle and Sheila Muhs could face murder charges after they opened fire on two vehicles last week, killing a 7-year-old boy.
The Muhs are currently being held on charges of aggravated assault for allegedly firing at least two shotgun blasts at a pair of packed cars that stopped outside their rural Texas house. Those charges are expected to be upgraded to murder, since a 7-year-old boy who was wounded in the assault has died from shotgun pellets to his head and face.
But police said the families in the two cars were driving on a public road when the Muhs opened fire from their house, killing Donald Coffey Jr. and hitting three others, including the boy's 5-year-old sister.
Outside the Muhs' house is a handpainted sign complete with misspelling and exclamation points that warns: "Trespassers Will Be Shot. Survivers Will Be Reshot!! Smile I Will."
Liberty County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Ken DeFoor told ABCNews.com today that the shooting was the most "violent reaction to something so blatantly, blatantly minor" he's ever seen.
Police got a 911 call just after 9 p.m. Thursday, DeFoor said, from Sheila Muhs who "reported there were people in jacked up four-wheel automobiles ... and that she shot them." She also reported that the vehicles were destroying the nearby levees.
But in reality, DeFoor said, the families in the two cars had done nothing illegal. And, he said, they never set foot on the Muhs' property.
DeFoor said the Coffey family -- mom Becky, dad Donald Sr. and their three children -- were visiting friends along with Patrick Cammack and Cindy Nelton in the Muhs' neighborhood near Dayton, Texas, about 45 miles east of Houston.
The two families had planned to go off-roading at the nearby government-owned levees on the way home, an activity that is both popular and legal in the area, DeFoor said.
In the Jeep were Cammack, 30, Donald Coffey, 30 and Donald Jr., 7. In the following Ford SUV were Becky Coffey, Nelton and the Coffey's 5-year-old daughter, Destiny, and 11-year-old son.
The two cars stopped on the county-owned road outside the Muhs' home so one of the boys could go to the bathroom by the side of the road.
That's when, DeFoor said, the couple ran out of their house.
"Sheila Muhs started cursing at them 'Get off our property,'" DeFoor said and fired off at least one round, causing the Jeep, which had started to leave, to veer off the road.
Muhs, he said, then put the shotgun down and chased after the Jeep on her all-terrain vehicle, eventually catching up to it on the levee about 100 yards away, the ATVs headlights pointed at the Jeep.
While that was happening, DeFoor said Gayle Muhs picked up the discarded shotgun and fired at the SUV. DeFoor said the trajectory of that shot showed that the back of the SUV was sprayed with pellets, it's rear window blown out.
"The SUV was in the process to flee," the officer said.
Nelton told the Houston Chronicle that they yelled at the Muhs after the first shot that they had kids in the car and to stop shooting, but another gunshot -- possibly more -- is all they heard in return.
Nelton said Destiny was in the back of the SUV screaming.
"She said, 'Mama, they shot me. Mommy, they shot me.' There was blood all over her," Nelton told the Houston Chronicle.
When it was over, Destiny had been shot in the elbow, Donald Coffey Sr. in the shoulder and Cammack, who was driving the Jeep, in the base of his skull. Little Donald Coffey, however, had been hit by several shotgun pellets in the face and head.

Texas practices capital punishment, do the US forumites believe this case will go all the way to the death penalty if they're found guilty of murder? I ask because the US has murder judged in varying degrees so how would this be assessed? Just looking for opinions, readers.Galee wrote:Texas Couple to Face Murder Charge for Shotgun Blast at Car that Killed Boy

Re: Odd News From Around The World.
Probably not. First of all , the prosecuting District Attorney has to decide to ask for the death penalty and they won't do that unless they have a very strong case. Bad marks on the reputation if they lose, especially if near election time. Much easier to convict if on a lesser charge like manslaughter. Then it's up to the judge and jury to impose punishment if convicted. Just from reading the article presented here, a good defense attorney could make the case for a "crime of passion", temporary insanity or the like. Plus he would undoubtedly argue that the crime was provoked. There' probably a lot more to this than the article implies. But it's really up to the two entities I cited earlier, the DA and the jury. Just my opinion, I am not a lawyer but I do watch CSI and "Law and Order".
Re: Odd News From Around The World.
That's interesting, then a Perp can get a lesser punishment if the DA is worried about his next election.jimboLV wrote:Bad marks on the reputation if they lose, especially if near election time. Moving on, US crime takes a more fruity dimension with this tale of a Perp that ate the evidence:

The BBC have provided a photo of the banana skin should any of you have not seen one.[/color]US 'banana gun robber' slips up
A US teenager who was thwarted in an attempt to rob an internet cafe armed with a hidden banana ate the "weapon" before he was arrested, police say.
John Szwalla entered the shop with a banana concealed under his T-shirt and demanded money, saying he had a gun.
The shop's owner and customers overcame the hapless thief and called for help, but they said the teenager ate his "weapon" before the police arrived.
Officers joked they may charge the 17-year-old with destroying evidence.
Bobby Ray Mabe, the owner of 109 Biz Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, said police officials took pictures of the banana skin instead.
"If he had had a gun he would've shot me," Mr Mabe told the Winston-Salem Journal newspaper. "But he had a banana."
Mr Szwalla has been charged with attempted armed robbery.

Sounds like he planned ahead so as not to make any slip ups.
And shop owner Bobby Ray Mabe must of been frightened out of his skin.

Alfie, 13, not father of baby
Little Alfie Patten, reported to have become a parent at the age of 13, did not father a baby, it has been revealed.
In February, The Sun newspaper reported the teenager believed he had made Chantelle Stedman, 15, pregnant when he was aged just 12.
A DNA test has since shown this is not the case and it can now be reported that Tyler Barker, 15, who lives on the same estate as Chantelle in Eastbourne, is in fact the father of baby Maisie, who was born on February 9.
The result can be revealed after East Sussex County Council failed in an attempt to ban reports of the case.
A judgment, made last month by Mrs Justice Eleanor individual, said Chantelle had been called a "slut" by four people she did not know. The teenager said "I was crying a lot every day" and feared that the insults would "go on forever".
Alfie was "extremely distressed" when he was told he was not the baby's father in March, the judgment revealed. At the time the story was published, Alfie, who lives with his mother Nicola, 43, in Eastbourne, said he "thought it would be good to have a baby".
The story renewed calls for better sex education in England, which has the highest rate of teenage pregnancies in western Europe.

Little Alfie got away with it then. Does that mean his Daddy will have to pay back the money to the newspapers?

Man advertised on Craigslist for someone to rape his wife.
A HUSBAND who allegedly advertised for a man to rape his unsuspecting wife was behind bars last night.
The mum of two woke in the early hours of the morning to find a man by her bed with a knife.
He then raped her while the 25-year-old husband watched.
The husband was charged with rape after police found evidence he had advertised on classified website Craigslist for someone to have sex with his wife using "scare tactics".
Cops in Kannapolis, North Carolina, are still hunting the attacker.
The horrified wife said: "This is the worst thing that's happened to me."
