The low-cost airline would charge passengers less on "bar stools" with seat belts around their waists.

Michael O'Leary, the chief executive, has already held talks with US plane manufacturer Boeing about designing an aircraft with standing room.


He is now seeking approval from the Irish Aviation Authority before ordering a new fleet of carriers, according to The Sun.

A Ryanair spokesman told the newspaper: "If they approve it, we'll be doing it."

Mr O'Leary is reported to have got the idea from the Chinese airline Spring, which has put forward similar plans. It estimates space could be made for up to 50 per cent more passengers and costs could be cut by 20 per cent.

It is not the first time Ryanair has come up with a controversial proposal for cutting costs. Earlier this year Mr O'Leary suggested passengers could be charged £1 to use the on-board lavatories.

In an interview on BBC television he said that the low-cost airline was looking at the possibility of installing a coin slot on the lavatory door so that "people might actually have to spend a pound to spend a penny."

Mr O'Leary also considered introducing a "fat tax" for overweight passengers.

Found this picture of possible "standing up seating" for sardine-extra class.

Before "standing up seating" would be allowed it would have to be clearly demonstrated that all the extra bodies could safely evacuate the aircraft in an emergency and also that the "seating" and its seat belt restraints met or exceeded current crash survivability standards.

Morgan Freeman Set To Marry Step-Granddaughter!

Morgan Freeman is reportedly set to marry his 27-year-old step-granddaughter.

The Shawshank Redemption star, 72, is planning on wedding E'Dena Hines once he is divorced from his second wife Myrna - reports The National Enquirer.

Hines is the granddaughter of Freeman's first wife - and he and Myrna have raised her since she was a young child.

A family insider told the National Enquirer, "Becoming Mrs Freeman has been E'Dnea's goal.

"It's not technically incest, because they are not related by blood. Morgan is trying desperately to keep his divorce out of open court so all the shameful facts won't become public."

Another family member told the tabloid, "Morgan has led her to believe that he wants to marry her."

not much of an advantage for me, especially in few monhs, as 54 now, oh joy, chickie at 45, and in a few months, why bother. i could always just wait till Gem turns 18, no blood, so i guess that would be ok.....

couldn't even think about it, where are these peoples morals.........if true, morgan freeman just took a big step dwn on my meter, as i thought him one of the better actors. after woody allens 'marriage' i stopped watching anything i knew he produced, though i didn't care for much of his stuff anyway. same with polanski, though understand he might of just got caught up in a 14 going on 30 situation, but common sense says ............... don't, expecially if a celebrity.

Saudi businessman orders solid gold penis enlarger.

OTTAWA (AFP) – A Saudi businessman has purchased what is being described by the Canadian seller as the world's most expensive adult novelty item -- a solid 18-carat gold penis enlarger worth nearly 50,000 dollars.

X4 Labs, a Canadian manufacturer of medical devices, received the unorthodox request and recruited a Montreal custom jeweler to help with its design and construction.

"This male health accessory is the most expensive traction device ever produced and will likely become a historical benchmark for the adult novelty industry," the company said in a statement.

Little is known about the buyer, except that he lives in Jeddah.

His glitzy new penis enlarger, however, is being encrusted at his request with 40 diamonds and several rubies and is to be delivered by armored car in October, said Rick Oh, X4 Labs co-owner.

Saudi law bans the import of adult sex toys, but the company insists its product is a US government certified medical device.

Such devices normally retail for less than 400 dollars. But this custom order is expected to cost about 47,000 dollars US, Oh said.

"It's an unusual request," Oh told AFP. "We didn't take it seriously at first, but once he sent us a deposit, we had to agree to it."

"Obviously, there were giggles initially when we presented our project to a jeweler and asked him for help."

But the seemingly lavish device was actually conceived for a practical purpose, Oh explained. "We were approached by the customer who insisted on a solid gold version of our product because he claimed to have a severe skin allergy to stainless steel."

Later, the buyer asked to add diamonds and rubies to it.

The company intends to now offer all customers custom designs for their male novelty devices, although it states it is "uncertain as to whether this will become a trend."

Product coordinator Matt West said he "is convinced that there is a demographic that is willing to pay for lavish medical devices for their private areas... to pay good money to spoil themselves."

"There is something tremendously selfish about the male ego, and subsequently 50,000-dollar orders may become the norm for companies like X4 Labs," he said.

3 Die after Suffocating In A 10 foot high 'Vat' Of Fish Sauce

Three die in fish sauce vat

HANOI - A VIETNAMESE worker and two colleagues who went to his aid suffocated to death inside a vat of fish sauce, police and news reports said on Monday.

The accident happened Saturday at a fish sauce plant in Cam Ranh township of coastal Khanh Hoa province, said a police officer who refused to be named.

One worker got into trouble after climbing in to fix a pipe, prompting his co-workers to try to rescue him, the Nong Nghiep (Agriculture) Vietnam newspaper reported.

All three died on the spot, it said.

Police were still investigating the deaths, the policeman told AFP.

Vietnamese fish sauce, a widely-used condiment, is made from a mix of anchovies and salt which is left to distil for more than a year in three-metre-high (10-feet-high) wooden vats. -- AFP

Dog that attacked police cars must attend classes

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – A pit bull mix in Tennessee has been sentenced to obedience training after his dogged attack on a local police car.

Winston didn't bite anybody, but he mauled a Chattanooga police car in what might have been a confused attempt to take a bite out of crime. The persistent pooch managed to tear off a section of the front bumper and damage the tires.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that a judge ruled that Winston had been a very bad dog. He was sentenced to obedience and canine good citizen classes, and he'll have to wear a tag that says he is "potentially dangerous."

Charges against his owner will be dismissed if the classes are completed successfully.

Owner Nancy Emerling said Winston got out of a fenced-in area at a welding shop March 14.

I guess the dog should do so many hours of community service for distruction of public property. Is canine good citizen classes the doggy version of anger management classes?
