Not so sure about that 93 as the last two Referendums failed. By the way, it was a Kiwi at work yesterday that reminded me about the NZ Honour ....

Interesting, you're saying New Zealanders are more in favour of the Monarchy than Australians are? I'd have thought it would have been the other way around.

I understand the Sydney Morning Herald is a Conservative newspaper but what do you make of the results they published last April?

I think an Aussie poll in February 2015 would be different Earnest although I accept a fair bit of the current controversy is driven by the desire to have a go at Abbot.

Here's a NZ political columnist comparing NZ and Australia's attitudes to honouring the Duke of Edinburgh:

I hope NZ might change its flag in the next year or two - our Tory PM has promised this will be considered. If that happens then there might be a push for the next step. I think when the Queen passes on the issue will become even more important.

How could we have missed this? The Cambodia Space Project was in celebration mood in Melbourne on Australia Day....2013.

I'll get in early. I hope all Aussies readers have a happy Invasion Day tomorrow. When I was living in Oz quite a few Ockers I knew used that name. NZ's national day has more than it's share of controversy as well.

I think Australia celebrated Australia Day in a good fashion today and as usual was able to push the ------ minority out the back where they can continue to complain to each other and to their hearts content.

Normal Aussie on top and ------ minority below. Notice they are mostly females from the feminazi brigade.

Had to have this at Robs the other night as the other rugged up punters drank free shots.

Setting was more like an Dawn Service than an Australia Day p*ss up in Udon. All rugged up and not a drop of ice in any beer to be seen, LOL

The invasion day activities seem to be increasing in Australia. I don't think that's a bad thing. National days in my book should be about more than just throwing shrimps on the barbie.

As the early reports about Mitchell Pearce on Australia Day came through I thought he had actually copulated with the dog. When I saw the video, I was thinking it's a shame he gets such flack for just simulating sex for a couple of seconds with a dog while drunk. Sure it's disgraceful but in my book it doesn't warrant much sanction. I think he'd still be warmly welcomed into any Aussie bar in Udon.

The guy who filmed it is a wxnker for chasing some coin over that. He wouldn't be so welcome.

One of my favourite Aussies is inducted into the Aussie Cricket Hall of Fame:

I hope the link works as I'm pasting from Tor. Why the hell has Thommo not been in the hall of fame for 40 years? Because he's not a blue rinse Victorian nor a New South Welshman?

Edit: Did I get that wrong? I think he was more a Queenslander than a New South Welshman?
