US vows to back off if fighters use Afghan civilians

Post by WBU ALUM » November 10, 2008, 2:45 am

U.S. vows to back off if fighters use Afghan civilians as cover

And now we will give you ideas to use against us and defeat us! Just give the enemy your list of rules of engagement. That will make for a happy time for everyone. :D

Next, we will give you our playbook and also let you know when we will be sleeping, not guarding significant hard targets and when we plan to leave the country in the hands of the inept Afghan Army.

What a bunch of losers and fools.

Well, you know what's going to happen now with an enemy as cynical as this...

But you're a former serviceman as well me, WBU. You must have been on operations with specific rules of engagement. How would US forces normally deal with examples such as this?

I'm not complaining about the rules of engagement.

I'm complaining about the fact that the rules of engagement are communicated to the enemy. What idiocy and incompetence.

I reckon the enemy know that already, WBU, that's why they make a habit of hiding behind civilians. Contrary to popular belief, US ground forces are not a rabid bunch of baby killers.

right wrong or indifference the first rule I would abide by is saving my own rear end if that means shooting a unarmed citizens because he looks like he might attack me well he is one dead M/F and I will take my chances with a court marshall. I do not agree with my Government going in to Pakistan with out there government approval to catch the bad guys I think it could be solved diplomatically and you can go
and catch them with the help of the Pak/army which IMO would make sense but I am not privileged
to sit in on those meeting so I can only do monday morning quarterbacking
