Bush gets size 10 shoes
Seems that an Iraqi journalist had the guts to show Bush the thanks he deserves.

don't waste your water Ron.
Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
You don't need to wonder what the fate of a journalist pulling that sort of stunt would have been if the target was Saddam. President Bush handled the situation as the class act that he is. The cheering responses of some just illistrates the complete unhinged lunacy of those that cant seem to square the fall of Saddam and the emerging democracy in Iraq with anything more than name calling, shoe throwing and indiscriminate suicide market bombings.
Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
Tiger I know your blinded love for GWB over whelm me but the sad truth is the man is a F**** moron and should have never been appointed President. and executing S/H was a big mistake going in to Iraq was also a big mistake and talking like he was Wyatt Earp when he is nothing more than the town drunk also
disturbs me because it cost the lives of 3000 + Americans but it OK for you to love GWB as long as it not me

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
Agree with Ron here. Bush is the worst president in my memory and a laughing stock in the rest of the world. I cannot believe that an intelligent race voted this man in twice. Well, perhaps they didn't. He did lose the first election and win by cheating, didn't he?

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
Worst 'Mr President' or not...he did handle it ok and it was straight of the top of his head(not the shoe bit)...and not something someone else had written down for him.
I thought he done well anyway...He stood his ground and didn't loose his rag , and i wonder who kept the shoes,(they might even make it on to E-bay...$$$$$$)and the laugh is on the journo as he has no shoes to walk home in..

I really enjoy watching him duck.
Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
Agree with you Tiger and BM, he handled the situation with pure grace. And those people who have no foresight beyond 2 days can only think that our country and the coalition entered Iraq for oil, well they will possibly never change their minds. No-one 5 or 10 yrs ago I do not think, could have ever imagined that their would be an emerging democratic country in the middle east.tigerryan wrote:"President Bush handled the situation as the class act that he is. Our armed forces and other forces deserve a big cheer and also a big cheer for President Bush for his no-nonsense aim to push democracy through. Democracy does come at a price and we will never forget our service personnel that did not make it home. President Obama may have other ideas and I wish him well whatever decision he makes, we did elect him and must stand by him.
So some journalist is not happy with President Bush, so be it, you cannot please everybody. Well done Mr President.

You mean democratic countries in the Middle East such as the Lebanon, Israel and Turkey. =D>cryptic wrote: Agree with you Tiger and BM, he handled the situation with pure grace. As an act, Bush is in the same classy league as Sylvester Stallone's mom, Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears.
Or maybe I am being a bit tough on Ms Hilton and Ms Spears.
Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
Although I was for going into Iraq and support GWB,after the fact I can see that I was wrong as was the President in trying to establish a democracy in that area. The fact that we believed they had WMDs and thumbed their nose at the World was reason enough.
The problem was that our intelligence agencies had been stripped to the bone prior to the Bush administration and the intelligence was BS,but Saddam brought us into the convincing mindset with his own actions and got his just dessert.
I believe GWB was sincere in his thinking and actions and the people that hate him, like my friend Ron,will believe what they choose to believe!

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
Bush dosnt reallly understand the situation, the throwing of shoes is the biggest insult that an Iraqi can give someone. Remember when they pulled down the statue in Baghdad? When it came down people were hitting it with thier shoes.
As for Bush, he shouldnt of got in the second time. Why it was never contested in the courts beggars belief. Or maybe the states was ready for a second rate leader. If the Americans had any balls they would of done what the Thai's did and bring the whole transport network to a halt, and demand a recount. Is that democracy?

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
I hear the word Democracy thrown around quite a bit like we tried in in 1965 in Vietnam it did not work there we had arms race with the Soviets we won was the democracy there KGB is there President now we are try to bring democracy to a Muslim country which does not want it some how I wonder why do we do these insane things or is it some to get us to spend money on big defense so we can go in and blow up these people and there buildings and then we contract it out to Halliburton so they can rebuild the damage we done and not one penny of Iraq oil was spent on rebuilding the country some how I find this all puzzling
to me. Is it a guilt trip or more of the same ideology that has failed us so many times when I was a little boy I was told if I stick my hand in the fire I will get burned so I learned not to do that now we have genius doing the same thing but they never learn

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
I know it should not be be for me, a brit, to disparage GWB but I'm afraid that with him all I see is a warmongering ***** who cannot string 3 words together. Essentially though my beef was with having a PM, Tony Blair, who loved using the front of his head as GWB's toilet paper...christians hey! who needs them!!!!...may they both fry in hell

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
This thread is a prime example of the double standard that exists, but is not limited to the US media.
On one hand, we have a group who thinks it is hilarious that a head of state is insulted and physically attacked on the world stage. Yes, physically attacked, as in aggravated battery, which is a felony in most states within the US. On the other hand, we have the same group screaming "racism" every time someone disagrees with the incoming president's agenda or proposed policy.
It's one thing to disagree with a policy, and it's quite another to take joy in seeing any head of state insulted and become the victim of violence.

Re: Bush gets size 10 shoes
what your point WBU if I was there I would throw more than shoes at the (edited by Udon Mod Team. Please quit using vulgar language.) he lucky that all that was thrown at him. I wish those families of the 3000 + heros that were killed in iraq & Afghanistan were present and what they would throw at him for sending there loved ones to a war that was unnecessary and illegal I do not take any pride in that man he embarrassed my country and me
because I am a proud American and I expect the President wether he was appointed or elected to be a proud American not some back room dealing SOB

This is indeed!!!!

All the NEOCONS are trying to rewrite history!!!!!
There was plenty of intelligence that showed that there were NO WMD and there was NO imminent threat.
Inspectors of the UN ( Hans Blickx,...)
Heck, even weapons inspectors appointed by Mister BUSH himself ( David Kay) declared repeatedly that there were NO WMD.
(These inspectors should receive medals for bravery !!!!)
but the problem was that Bush, Cheney, the weapon and oil industry, the neocons,... they all WANTED this war
So please STOP the BS...
There was plenty of sound intelligence that showed that there were no WMD
But that was not what Bush & Co. wanted to hear,
so they simply fired these capable inspectors that had the right analysis from the beginning...
STOP REWRITING HISTORY
It is incredible how quickly people try to forget the past

This shows again that some people try to forget or hide the facts in order to prove their own ideology....

Fussy Its funny you say "if Americans had any balls" and the thread we are talking about is an American president who is giving a press conference in Iraq. Considering whats gone on over there in the past few years, thats balls in my book. Some **** throws his shoes at him (not balls and lame). Americans typically have large mouths and big balls. GWB won the election
