To be honest, I didn't know who he was. But after reading the Guardian article...decided he was my kind of writer. Especially liked this quote of his: "I never drink when I'm writing, but I sometimes write when I drink." Sounds like me on Udonmap .

Mr Waterhouse was a habitual lunchtime drinker at The O'Neil's Pub in London, where he habitually and unrepentantly took eight large glasses of Pinot Grigiot each day in his elder years.
