UK's refugee deportations to go ahead
UK's refugee deportations to go ahead
After exhausting the last two appeals, the first flight is due to depart for Rwanda this evening.

Rwanda deportation flight blocked by European judges
Asylum seekers win injunctions to remove them from the plane, just hours after a UK court had rejected their plea
"The European Court of Human Rights granted an urgent injunction to one of the asylum seekers to remove him from the flight, just hours after the UK Supreme Court had rejected his plea.
The remaining six migrants facing deportation also secured similar injunctions and the £300,000 Boeing 767 charter flight, waiting at RAF Boscombe Down in Wiltshire to take them to Rwanda, was grounded."

Hey Pratel, Truss, Schapps, JR-M and the rest of you sycophantic mob of Tory suckarses! What's that you've been telling us about how Boris The Ejaculator got Brexit done?!

Are Arsenal gonna have "DONT visit Rwanda" on their shirts next year?
Re: UK's refugee deportations to go ahead
I read in the link that the Archbishop of Canterbury says the policy shames the UK as a nation. In some quarters, I think so.
And European judges grant an injunction when British judges wouldn't? WTF? I thought that was all supposed to be over.

Re: UK's refugee deportations to go ahead
The recent, 11th-hour and unsuccessful attempts in the Supreme Court, High Court and Court of Appeals were in lieu of the findings of an ongoing judicial review of this deportation law being carried out by the High Court at the request of Care4Calais, the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), Detention Action, and four asylum seekers who were scheduled to be on last night's flight. Those finding are due next month with a final resolution not expected until at least September.

The UK falling within the jurisdiction of European judges. The European judges don't have this authority in NZ.stattointhailand wrote: ↑June 15, 2022, 12:50 pm"And European judges grant an injunction when British judges wouldn't? WTF? I thought that was all supposed to be over."

We haven't left Europe((and moved to Asia/America)), we only left the EU , we are STILL bound by Human Rights Laws despite what Bojo and his Cronies thinkGT93 wrote: ↑June 16, 2022, 1:35 amThe UK falling within the jurisdiction of European judges. Re: UK's refugee deportations to go ahead
Plus the ECHR simply pointed out to the UK government that to ship anyone out to Rwanda while a judicial review of the law that allows them to do this is underway is the legal equivalent of premature ejaculation. This seems to be a trait of Boris's. Witness so many women getting in the way of his profligate splooging for example.stattointhailand wrote: ↑June 16, 2022, 6:14 amWe haven't left Europe((and moved to Asia/America)), we only left the EU , we are STILL bound by Human Rights Laws despite what Bojo and his Cronies thinkGT93 wrote: ↑June 16, 2022, 1:35 amThe UK falling within the jurisdiction of European judges. Re: UK's refugee deportations to go ahead
Countries can score highly for human rights without the need for interference from European judges. The UK can't? I guess legally (treaties etc.) it's a different issue from leaving the EU. It still seems odd to me.

An interesting response from the “Question Time” audience last night on the Rwanda policy.
Ashamed to be English since 23rd June 2016 when England voted for racism & economic suicide.
