USA Pays 400 Million

OK so the US ships/flys 400 Mill in Euro's and Swiss Francs to Iran?? Got that, but how did they actually organize it.

What I cant work out is who actually did all the work Its not as though someone from the State Department can just walk into a Bank, hand over four pallets of money wrapped in plastic and them walk out with a mini van full of nice crisp -new Euro's & Swiss Francs, with no paper trail/record or witnesses to the event.

Gut feel is, they (the State Dept) engaged some Bank, maybe GS or ....., and paid them a Fee on top (probably 3-5%) to arrange it from/through other friendly Banks. So truth known, it cost the US Tax Payer more than US 400 Mill as no Bank will do all this for free =D>

Then there is the question of where did the US 400 Mill Plus first come from , The US Treasury Dept, a US Slush Fund, or Obama's desk drawer =D>

Must be some records/paper trail on this one, with lists of all involved. Just have to wait for Wiki Leaks or Russia to role this one out.

White house statement last night was that the money actually belonged to Iran,it was money paid to US for armaments which had never been delivered due to the uprising.

back in 1979 the Shah's government fronted money to the U.S. for military aircraft. Then Khomenei's revolution happened and the U.S. froze those funds.. The Iranians have been contesting to get those funds back for decades.. Supposedly, quite quietly the U.S. had been negotiating a settlement for the release of those funds in conjunction with the Iranians Nuke talks and back channel negotiations to get four U.S. citizens held prisoner in Iran released.. That $400 million in cash that was secretly flown into Tehran was the first part of a $1.7 billion settlement for the frozen money from 1979.. For the Obama administration to claim the money had absolutely nothing to do with the prisoner release is in my opinion utter twaddle. Of course it did, even as it was the first part of a "legal" settlement on the frozen monies from 79.. It was one tool in the toolbox of diplomacy used to pay off the owed money as well as get those prisoners out.. Since it was given as pallet loads of cash you really have to wonder who in the Iranian government grabbed it?? The questions in the right leaning media today are all about the fact that it was all done secretly, and whether or not that money might end up funding terrorist activities under the Iranian Al Quds force....

Meanwhile, the Iranian nuke problem isn't a problem now. Even if the 400 million was our money, and it wasn't, 400 million would be a cheap way of solving that problem.
