Afer reading the label we decided to spray outside the home and on the primeter fence. We did this this morning. It is now almost 6pm and we do not have ants in the house at this time. Also have a lot of cintipedes and such dead in the flower beds.
So far nothing has fallen off of me or the wife. Did some reading on the internet and they spray livestock with it. I feel ok in doing the spraying. Gee, I worked with Benzene for 30 years and I don't mean gasoline. I do have a clue on MSDS.
Don't know the residual effect but will update later.

Don't have a roach problem at all. Have two cats that like to torment them to death - so they all seem to stay away. At least that is my rationalization for having two "women in cheap fur coats" living in residence...
For ants I have found a great deterrent is a disinfectant or hygenic cleaner that I pick up at Big C. Called Dr. Clean All Surface Cleaner. Has a picture of a kitchen on the bottle. Kills those little buggers on contact - virtually immediately and seems to last. Just lightly wipe off and you don't see the critters for a long time. Smells a lot better than the poisons and if it is on a counter, it won't hurt you.

Ah I did sayWell Dakota, I left the rice out and this morning so far no ants. I did see one ant at the other end of the house, but other than that I have not seen any.

1. I had to redo the spraying after three days as I saw ants again. I had a big ant problem. This time I did tha spraying and did it good. I do see ants but are rare now.
2. Roaches- Seems to work great on them. Find them dead but don't see any alive.
3. All other bugs- did a job on all bugs as the flower bed, we find dead bugs there daily.
Round up- This stuff does not have any smell. The residual seems to work as we are still finding bugs dead. Don't know about long term residual.
Paid 400 Baht for a small jar about a pint. Will make quite a bit of spray. If I have to spray weekly. will most likely last a year so cheap enough for me. Like I said, still see a few ants but live in a duplex. Maybe if the other side sprayed all would be gone for awhile anyway. Time to spray the house, 15 to 20 minutes.

Yes I got it at Home Mart and it is in a white bottle with an orange lid. The best I can come up with in Thai is Chendri. They actually have some Falang writing on the bottle and it reads Chalndrite. Next line is Stedfast 4 SC. They have 4 or 5 sizes. They even have a gallon but unless you are going in business, that is a lot. Might not be if you are doing a large lawn. We sprayed grass, flowers etc and no bad results. Bunch of dead bugs.

An update
Didn't realize it had been that long but this was started Sept 6. As of today after I sprayed the first two times and then around the wall two weeks later, I have just done another spraying. Only reason is Wife saw a couple of ants. My point is the long lasting effect seems to work good and if I only spray once every three months that is fine by me.

Thanks for refreshing this good info thread, Brian. A lot of ants at our new house so will give it a try or the wife will bug me constantly. Seen a few large rats in area around our old house but doubt they're stupid enough to enter a place with two mean cats. Our cats also seem to keep any roaches in the area under control. Saw Numbnuts "playing" with one last night. Maybe I should buy him a live mouse.

The philosophy I have picked up from my wife:
Black mot don't bite, leave them alone.
Red mot bite, try to kill them.
Anything that won't bite you will be beaten by something else so leave it alone rather than risk the poison needed to kill it.
I will admit to living a bit more primitive shop-house life style than most of you probably, but our volunteer house lizards and the dog seem to keep the vermin down.
The food storage cabinet's legs rest in small bowls of water that the mot can not swim through.

In Big C they have a packets containing a little flourescent green container which you tip a sachet of small yellow pellets into and then leave by the source of the ants nest. The ants get inside the container and carry the "food" back to the nest, killing the queen and all the ants that have a nibble. I have always found this to be the best long term solution, unfortunately can't remember what they are called though.
