Thanks Grievous, Have the dunny :fart: planned and incorporated into the waste water/effluent plan with pool shower area stage 2, along with the outdoor undercover BBQ area. Have to save up for that. :(
Only coz G is worried about having to find a tree near the BBQ you have planned, plant lemons Barney

But an already created BBQ and build some bricks around it, then add the wood fired pizza oven later, good thought.

Don't under estimate an invertor air con in the Master Bedroom and a Cassette Air con for the main living area/s.

Air conditioners with inverters are able to vary the temperature of the air they produce, rather than stopping and starting. They are often quieter, cheaper to run and achieve the desired room temperature more quickly – although they are more expensive. Your will want to get hold of a Termite Company and lay out a grid of pipework under the cement of the house, so one does not have to drill holes in their floor later.
Hope this helps

Thanks Ding for the thoughts.

Termite protection will be done but very minimal. will check after piling. The design has a complete lack of timber for them to chew on. But still in the activity to do.
Raised house off the ground aswell. About the height of a split AC external unit.
Piling has started today. 2 or 3 days to complete.

I'm not a plumber mate but I get a bit sick of flushing two or three times to make a nugget disappear. Not sure if it is a common problem or that we have extremely buoyant nuggets. it may be worth asking if increasing the sewerage pipes will stop this problem before installation. I only have the flushing problem on the American style dunny that fills with water, the Aussie style that I have in the other bathrooms work ok.

Thanks Grievous

Buoyant nuggets? now that could be a popular side thread with some UM members?

Yes you certainly are not a plumber, any good plumber would have one of those little fish tank nets to capture said nugget, take it out side and flick it over the neighbours fence , Aussie style.

But on a not so serious talk I have looked at plenty of throwns and often wonder which is best. Full water style or normal. Perhaps there are some nonsense house experts whom could enlighten me here.

To DM

I will most likely have a couple of practice runs fir the house warming, which would include speed of delivery of a nice Belgium beer in an emergency. Have not found one floater with that beer you serve, in fact the opposite.

Happy and safe songkran to all.

Agree with G here Barney, You don't need your nuggets and septics mixed up.

As your North of the Equator, so the corelous effect will be deflecting to the right. May need to place the Long drop carefully.

Best of Luck Barney with the build, Im back in 4 weeks, so come over for a few , check out some finishing off tips.

When I choose my Thrones, I actually went to St Mall and sat on a few for a dry run. You can ask for trade discount here also, go to their office and explain, can get up to 10% more than the best floor price you negotiate.

Sign yourself up for a credit card, that earns points, Homepro Account etc You will be amazed what you can redeem after a house build.

Its cheaper to install small electric hot water units , than running longer pipes etc.

No doubt your up with 3 Phase and what you will run in the kitchen and air cons etc.

Tip for kitchen, if you have appliances from Oz, when putting in the power points , buy the international female sockets at Homepro etc , just the same as larger Hotels have. same in bathrooms for any expat guests

Looks like all the workers have sobered up after songkran and were on the job this week.
Started excavating to expose the piles ready for steel work for the pool and other underground areas. Then just as it is going well, as we all can predict, the excavator bucket teeth broke. Back on Sunday after the welding is complete.

1st phase is all the underground excavation and concrete works. There are a total of 31 piles to expose for house and pool. Couple of months I hope. Should then have a flat floor on piers. Ready for stage 2.

Wazza,

Will be no timber in the house to eat.
But will see what the experts say later about spraying some thing. Would rather no poisons.

I am interested to see how your pool goes.
Can I ask who you are using?
I am leaning towards GDL for mine, but open to ideas/advice.
Thanks

I have not used any wood for building material but still after a few years we had a termite hill under the house going all the way up to the underside of the concrete flooring. I got it removed and sprayed every 2 months for a year and right now it's OK. In retrospect I would have layed concrete on the ground and/or installed piping for future spraying. Don't forget you will have wood in furniture etc and I think those termites can smell it
We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now
