Mike, could he put the injection system between bore pump and tank?
That might fix everything.

Why would anyone want to put a chlorine injector on there domestic water system, so you can bathe in the sweet smell of chlorine and breath in the smell every time you turn on a tap as well as destroy your garden when you water, good idea not, wouldn't it be better to go to the root cause as what he is experiencing is not normal, and simply fix it, if the well water is contaminated the only way to treat it is liquid chlorine, that will sanitize the water immediately, (use correct PPE, rubber gloves and goggles) if the next problem is the tank allowing sunlight in to create algae then replace the tank with one that wont, or if the top was left off and algae has grown then clean and treat it properly and there will not be a problem any more.
Chlorine is not dangerous with correct PPE and the correct equipment to carry out the job.

Mick

Either before or after the tank will work just fine. The injection system is quite simple to install as well. However, if the OP is using one of those blue tanks it will need to be changed. It would also be a good idea to have the well water tested to see what may be polluting it.

Coxo I simply offered the chlorine injector up as an alternative method of solving the problem. Strange how every modern western country utilizes chlorine or one of its derivatives to treat the water supply system preventing disease without any real side effects to people, pets or garden.

The method you are talking about isn't solving the problem, it is masking it, and you then have chlorine in your household water permanently, not a good idea. I am suggesting going to the cause and solving it once and permanently, as stated if the well water is contaminated shock it with chlorine and kill the bacteria if there is any, then clean out or replace your tanks, problem solved.
As far as chlorine not having side effects, that has been up for debate for a long time and I personally would not take the risk as a permanent solution.

Regrettably correlation (which are a lot of the reports on that site) does not equal causation.

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.

The first simple test is to find out if the storage tank is allowing light to get in. The easy way to check this is to clean a small section inside the tank. Then take a powerful flashlight and hold it against the outside of the tank. If you can see any light coming through, that is the problem.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. I would like to think that the problem of algae/mold in a water tank is innocent enough that we can discuss it without resorting to personal attacks and name calling. We have cleaned up this thread. Please, let's keep it that way.
