how long are you going to harp on the skilled labor thing. I bet you don't want to pay over Laboror wages but want a craftsman.

I'm beginning to wonder if ntvillas2's overwhelming need to put down the Thais, stems from his own insecurities;o)

Put Thais down. in What Way. i tell Them you are Ting tong Stupid and More. They laugh.
i show them whats wrong and they laugh. Strange people.

The house now is 95% done and its 85% ok
I will make a Snagging list and sort the problems Later. Craftsman Here are like Hens Teeth.
Use a Builder who offers a Guarantee in writing for at least 1 year.
dont hire farmers who Build Sheds.
So tell me how you are Doing Later with your new House please.

Why bother making a list with all the problems?
If they are that stupid as you say they will only laugh anyway and your problems are still there... :^o

Craftsmen are out there. As you say they are in demand. You want to pay B200, then you get what you pay for.

Mr Villas, my question still stands. After, by your own admission, you told me of all your problems and how Thais are stupid by your account, why should anyone hire you to manage building a house just to add a layer of management. Oh yea, I forgot you speak english. Being as how you can not get my point across to the Thais (Stupid), I guess by hiring you I get to yell at you in English. Lot of money for that fun time.

Well if craftsmen here are like hens, then I can only consider the UK version to be vultures. A few years back I was unlucky enough to suffer a burst pipe on Xmas eve. I rang several so called specialist plumbers, offering 24hour emergency call out. The first 5 refused to come , the 6th said his charge would be 200 pound, no work, just call out for 10 minutes attendance.
I had no choice but to agree, he took one look and said"new tank" but couldn't do till after holiday. I promptly turned water off and went to hotel, his fee didn't include turning water off! Two days later called my normal guy out, who had been on holiday, a bit of soldering, bill for 25 pound, everything okay again. Never been ripped off like that in Thailand :D Give me Thai craftsmen any day.

Another good example of thai workmanship. Today my tile man had a question. It seems that he dropped his watch, or tape, or hammer and made a large chip in one of the tiles. His question was, is this ok :!: Not sure of other places, but in america, at least where I have lived, they would not ask, but say a few $%$% words and replace it. Just think it was lucky I was there to give the correct answer. :D

Wish you would make up your mind about you employees / contractors.

Once again - I would never buy a house from you because it is my simple opinion that you are a plonker. Good luck in your endeavors though. I however, will not help you advertise your fantastic deals and programs and what-not by telling other falangs about you.

Contact Lee - and do some paid advertising - and maybe - you might get a bit more respect here. Until then - my personal opinion is that you are some place in the lexicon between being a plonker and a ------.
