Hi,
I'm getting to the stage where I need to think about Windows & Doors.
I'd like to get the aluminum type Jazzman has talked about in ALL (you're a busy guy) his forums, which have been very good. However, all the info I find is about non-paned aluminum windows. Are there aluminum framed windows that come in the "pane" type you see with wood framed windows? It seems to me there would be, but I haven't seen any in all the albums (including yours) I've looked at, nor in any houses I have seen driving down the roads.
I haven't contacted any local window guys yet. I thought I would ask here first, before asking the window guy and getting the "what is this Farang talking about" stare.
I really like the 'look' of the pane-type windows, but would like to bypass problems associated with wooden windows.
Also, can anyone give me the name/phone # of a good aluminum window manufacturer in the Udon/NongKhai area - specifically if needed - Nong Song Hong village.
Regards,
Missouri Mike

Aluminum Windows
Re: Aluminum Windows
Hi Mike, My father in law has been building windows, doors, gutters and roll up doors and gates of all kinds for alot of years and are his specialty.I have seen alot of his work at homes, businesses big and small and he does a great job.If you are interested he speaks some english but would be best if your wife could relay complete conversation or my wife and I would be happy to relay translation. He lives in Ban Muang village not far from Big C and would be happy to give you an estimate and if you talked to him by phone he most likely has catalogs that he could bring to show you what he can do.His name is Phayu Phonnam-in Cell#089-5779312 If you have any questions feel free to write me at sam100glt@yahoo.com or here! Thanks,SammyG

Mike I also forgot to mention that he is going to build all of our windows, doors, gutters for our house/school in Udon soon and we looked at material available and are going with the fairly thick dark glass as I think it will reflect light away from the inside of the house quite well(for cooling) but he can make just about anything you want.Sammyg
Re: Aluminum Windows
I used a company out of home mart on ring road they are vinyl I had all my windows & doors done up with it now what under the vinyl I assume wood I like the look so I went for it yes I could have saved some money if I went with aluminum but I also had my soffits done in vinyl and they look good I would post a photo if I knew how things got screwed up when Isara went bust
Re: Aluminum Windows
Hi Sammy,
Thanks for the info/phone number on/of your father-in-law. I have written it down and will contact him in the next week or so - when I have made definite decisions on what I need. I'm just in the process of planning placement/size of windows. The brocheres would really help.
Thanks again,
Mike
