K Blocks

Post by Andrew-Udon » August 10, 2011, 3:06 pm

Has anyone used K Blocks in their house construction? I spotted these at a builders merchants yesterday and thought they looked pretty tough, there was a sample piece with several nails and screws in it demonstrating its strength.

The bonus of these blocks is no special skills are required in construction, standard mortar can be used and they can easily be cut to size. They don't suck up water like Qcon blocks and they have good thermal and sound proofing properties.

The only downside is they're 22 baht per block so slightly more that the Qcon.

Has anyone used these before, I'd be interested to hear any feedback good or bad. They have a website BTW http://www.k-block.com

Thanks Galee. I did post it on there this morning but it was removed without explanation. Maybe they didn't like me posting the link. I've had other posts removed without explanation so I'll try here instead.

you got my interest on this one, because I use to be a bricklayer and blocklayer when I left high school back in the day.. I looked at the link you gave us..could one describe these as a type of concrete block?? what are they 4" wide, alittle brittle and pourous, and you intend to cover them with a concrete slurry??

K-Block is just a solid concrete block. Looked at them when I was building 5 years ago, went with Q-Con, but thats me. Found that giving advice is just trouble. Like they say everyone has one. :D

Thanks for the replies.

It's not 100% concrete block and has small air bubbles like the Qcon block, only difference is that lime isn't added so the end result you can use any type of mortar rather than a special glue.

I was just wondering if anyone has used them and has any feedback good or bad?
