I have received the following E Mail from a friend living in Dubai and do not have the knowledge to help him.
Can any of the members give solid advice and not just speculation....please.

I intend buying land in Udon in my wife's name. I want a contract drawn up that I have life usufruct of any property WE buy in Thailand in her name.
I have had a contract drawn up by her Brother in law in Thai and had it translated and changed to what I want it to say.
I now want it translated back into Thai and sent to me in Dubai where I want it checked out.
If it is ok I will sign it here and then send my wife to Thailand to get it notarised in Thailand..so that it is effective in Thailand.
She says her brother in law says I have to sign it in Thailand in front of a notary..I presume..but I think it's bollocks.
Do you know anyone who knows what the correct procedure is to get a contract notarised in Thailand? Unquote

I can not give you an answer but I can recommend you contact Preben at FBI he should be able to help. He provides these type of contracts with houses he sells

A friend of mine just did the same thing as you, we went to the US embassy and signed the papers in front of the notary. that was good for thailand.
