LIST OF REFERENCES; CONTRACTORS
LIST OF REFERENCES; CONTRACTORS
Just wondering if a thread can be started listing building contractors contact information and specialty/skill. Sort of a directory, allowing members to post referrals or look-up information. Additionally, the post can be marked as a sticky making it easier to find the information without having to search through a bunch of threads.
Custom Cabinet maker
Mr. Somchai Inteedt HandPhone 089-575-2586 who lives in Udon. he speaks NO English..
Reasonable rates, has a complete set of tools to include router, table saw, electric hand tools and has his own truck to move built pieces to your home.
For my house, Mr. Somchai did the kitchen cabinetry, bathroom cabinets and mirror frames, a full wall width clothing cabinet with drawers, custom recess 2 meter tall cabinets in the bedrooms, custom 2 meter tall display cabinets with glass doors and shelves...

Great Idea =D>
I've known this man for two years now. He is a well respected member of Udon's business community. Khun Thiti Sangsananan, Managing Director,
Udon Wannawit Co., LTD. 081-708-3200, (042) 205062-4, Udonwan@yahoo.com
He speaks perfect English, he may run you a few baht more. However, IMO, it will be well worth it, as there will be no mis-communications.

Khun Thiti is a general building contractor. He also owns one of the Jotun Home Improvement Stores, the one he owns is on the Nong Khai Rd., about six kilometers north of the Ring Rd. He is well traveled, and "understands" us farangs and what we expect. He has a architect/designer that works for him.
As I said before he would be a good English speaking/understanding buffer between you the farang, and the Thai workman. IMO
I suggest telephone him, set up a meeting with him, and make your own decision.
I'm not building a house, but if I was, after my conversations with Thiti, he'd be my man.

We have a small triangular block near Nong Bua market on which we would like to build student accommodation.
Would a recommended builder such as Khun Thiti be likely to survey the block and propose plans of maximising the available space on the block for a fee? Is this the best way to get started?
I would appreciate any advice.
ps: Thai language is no problem.

Re Builders Recommendations
Hi All
I was hoping some more people would post some recommended builders here, with all the houses in Udon there must be a lot, and a lot that people here know about.
I want to get a list so I can do a bit of a shop when I return as we want to build two houses on a large block, but I would prefer a builder who can do the lot, eg. building, carpentry, tiling, glazing, plumbing & electrical so I don't have to chase around, a turnkey house.
thanks Barry
