re entry visa from loas what does it cost ?

Post by motorhomes4sale » October 1, 2005, 1:58 pm

If you go over the bridge at Nong Khai in order get another 30 day visa on re entry what does it cost ?
Do you have to pay 500 baht on going out of Thailand same as at Bangkok airport ? what do you have to pay when you enter Loas ? do you have to pay anything when you re enter Thailand ?

PS: ive only been a member a few days now and I am finding this forum to be really good, I am learning a lot. My wife who lives in the UK with me now is from Sakhon Nakhon. I would like to live in Udon as its not too far from there. Theres no farang in Sakhon Nakhon so I dont wish to live there.

Cheers for your help.

Andy, you pay nothing when you re enter Thailand, the process of getting the 30 tourist visa is free. The 500 Baht at Bangkok is airport departure tax.You will have to pay 10 Baht i think for a bus over the bridge as you will not be alowed to walk.

To enter Laos you have a choice of either paying 30 US dollars or 1500 Thai Baht for your 15 day visa. You also need a passport size photo. They are prone to shut the border for security reasons so check in advance to see if this may be the case.

Andy if you would rather not leave the country you can extend a tourist visa at any immigration office for 1900 Baht.

A 60 day tourist visa can be extended for 30 days.

A 30 day tourist visa can be extended for 15 days.

Marcus.

yes thats worth considering, ive done the 15 day extension lots of times in Bangkok and Pattaya. If I was coming to stay for a long period of time I would come with 60 day visa from the Thai embassy in UK. I do believe though that you can only extend a visa once. Then when that runs out you could do a border crossing Loas.

Businessman: please take a look at my question uner accommodation

Cheers
Andy
