Mr Knil was seen in the travel agents with Brian Laws , Ian Holloway , Martin Jol , Malkey Mckay talking over where to go on a stags holiday now they have oodles of free time .... their final decision was put on hold til next month as they were waiting for David Moyes to join them before they confirm their booking

FA Cup 3rd round today and 3 teams from the Conference have survived,so far.Good luck to them all today !

Cheltenham V Chesterfield

One of the few non FA Cup games that actually looks like it could be played.
With the Burton game being postponed & Scunny without a game the visitors would go bacl top on goal difference with a win...

Their official nick name is the rather uninspiring
The Robins.
I guess that is due to typical football fan wit & humour that their home shirts are red & white.

Like any supporter of a large football club I have always just shortened it to
Town
full in the knowledge that anyone that knows anything about football will automatically know who I am talking about...

Burton 2-1 Cheltenham

Great win by Scunny sees them cement top spot.
Town can't help their own or Scunny's cause as they fail to get anything against second side Burton...

Been off the radar (and internet) a few days as busy ... so imagine my glee when i checked flashscore late last night and saw SCUNTHORPE UTD had had another impressive win , again away from home , Russ Wilcox certainly has this group playing well and hes managed a couple of new signings already ,, shame Connor Jennings isnt fit at the moment a few weeks away im told .

Scunnies EPL push just keeps rolling lets hope it continues to the end of the season , then the current plans for a new 50,000 all seater stadium can come to fruition

heloo all real fans of football ...........the beautiful game !!

Two once heavy weight greats meet tomorrow ,,,, in the clash of the titans ,, SCUNTHORPE UTD v Wobbledon ,,, Lets hope Scunnies excellent form continues under Russ Wilcox [-o< who now has a large fresh faced squad to choose from ...competition for places always bodes well ..

Also in the same league but lower profile the Robins of Cheltingham take on Acco Stanley ..

Scunny nowt nowt against Wimbledon ,,, they stay TOP of the pile ,,,tho its very tight with several clubs a win away from the summit . Russ Wilcoxs unbeaten run since taking charge continues WELL DONE and keep it up all the way to the end of the season PLEASE .

In the lesser interesting part of league 2 I think the Robins went down 1-2 to Acco Stanley ...

Just about the best result for Scunny last night as promotion contenders Chesterfield played at home to fellow contenders Rochdale. The game ended, rather dramatically, in a 2 all draw.
With 90 minutes having been played the home side were a comfortable two nil up. However Marc Richards then got an automatic red for a handball in the box. Penalty converted & then an equaliser before the game finished.

Scunny stay top by a point, Rochdale take second spot, Burton third & then Chesterfield take the fourth spot.

Its all very tight at the top of league 2 ... Today sees Scunny away at Dag n Red , while lower down the table Celts are also away to Plymouth Arg .

Fingers crossed for ANOTHER Scunny victory .

Crazy game Dag N Red v Scunny .....

The Iron 3-0 up after 61 mins in the following 29 mins Dag n Red scored twice very quickly , the players were taken off the pitch in a severe storm conditions and a lighting strike on the stadium , play resumed with a 90 th minute equalizer for DnR ... finished 3-3 .... cracking entertainment by all accounts played in the worst conditions i have ever seen football go ahead in .

Looking on the bright side Scunny stay top

... but its even tighter now as the top 6 sides all witin i a win of the top . Scunthorpe will be pleased to get back to playing at home this coming Tuesday in the always tropical town we all love so much

Most of league 2 play tomorrow night.
With the exception of Cheltenham, who cannot drive me to despair as they have no midweek game & Scunny who have an interesting fixture TONIGHT...

Scunthorpe will be without veteran striker Deon Burton because of a calf injury, with Paul Hayes expected to replace him up front.

Gary McSheffrey and Paddy Madden are in contention, but defender Andy Dawson (hip), winger Andy Welsh (knee) and striker Matt Godden (ankle) are out.

Fleetwood will assess their squad after coming through a gruelling clash with Burton on Saturday.

Jeff Hughes (broken leg) and Jamille Matt (ankle) remain on the sidelines.
