Tonight United try & make it a Manchester final. Seems all a bit academic to be honest. United have not looked capable of beating much this season & Sunderland don't really need to be another side that reach a final in a relegation season!!

It's understood that Liverpool are trying to sign Tom Daley, apparently they want him to partner? Louis Suarez in order to form a Synchronized Diving partnership. Liverpool have also approached the World Wrestling Federation in an attempt to lure a top class wrestler to Anfield to team up with Skrtel in order to form a Tag Team in their defensive line up! How he gets away with continually manhandling opponents in his own penalty area is beyond me. Never mind me, just warming up for the 28th. Jan. Derby Clash at Anfield.

Here is more on the line that we brought you earlier that Sky Sources understand Manchester United have made a £40 million bid for Chelsea's Juan Mata through a third party. Mata, who has found himself out of favour at Stamford Bridge in recent weeks is reported to have missed training today and a possible switch to Manchester United is gathering pace with United now firming up their interest in the Spaniard with a bid. Stick with Sky Sports for any more breaking news on what is sure to be one the biggest deals of this month's transfer window.
Not sure about those stats Bob .... the first one seems way off the mark with Chelsea/Man U/Man C having well over 40 each ....... lord only knows how many Barca/Real/Munchen/PSG have got

The Palace Chairman had something to say on it. http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=82&story=5960stattointhailand wrote: Not sure about those stats Bob .... the first one seems way off the mark with Chelsea/Man U/Man C having well over 40 each ....... lord only knows how many Barca/Real/Munchen/PSG have got

United to win the game, but exit the competition.
Why?? I would have feared for the result against Citi on a big day out at Wembley. Now Sunderland fans can negotiate that hurdle while trying to remain in the Premiership..
United scoring 1 penalty out of 5 is really a sad reflection of the confidence of a lot of the team at the moment.
You have to feel that there will be a large exodus in the summer. Something that Sir A is more than a little responsible for!!
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25849959Juan Mata: Chelsea accept Manchester United's £37m bid
A good acquisition, just the type of player United should have signed in the summer..

The stat is compiled from the number of players actually USED by a side over the last two years.stattointhailand wrote:Not sure about those stats Bob .... the first one seems way off the mark with Chelsea/Man U/Man C having well over 40 each ....... lord only knows how many Barca/Real/Munchen/PSG have got
So while other sides may have more players on their books they don't actually get a game.
Maybe Palace should be congratulated for making better use of their assets..
Although, of course it rather implies that most of the players at the club are of a similar standard & the manager(s) don't really have much of an idea who their best starting 11 are..

Football Rumours Mark 2
English Premier League club Manchester City, in partnership with a group of owners of NRL side the Melbourne Storm, have acquired A-League franchise the Melbourne Heart.
Football Federation Australia approved the acquisition on Thursday. The move will allow the new owners to assume responsibility for all existing obligations of the Heart, effective immediately.
The Storm’s ownership group will be minority shareholders with a 20 per cent stake.
There has already been speculation suggesting the club may change its colours and name to Melbourne City Football Club to further synchronise with the famous MCFC brand.
Advertisement Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano said he was excited about the opportunity to make the Heart one of the most successful clubs in Australia and throughout the region.
‘‘We believe the strong sports culture of Melbourne combined with the football and commercial expertise within our consortium will make for a powerful combination both on and off the pitch,’’ Soriano said in a statement on Thursday.
FFA boss David Gallop welcomed the acquisition of Heart’s licence as a huge vote of confidence in the future of the A-League.
‘‘Manchester City and their Australian partners have made a strategic investment and I welcome them to our growing competition. It’s another sign that the world is taking notice of Australian football,’’ Gallop said.
‘‘Manchester City and their partners will bring a high level of expertise in football and sports business matters and that can only strengthen the Melbourne Heart and the Hyundai A-League as a whole.’’
The new ownership group said it would not be making any major announcements until mid-2014, out of respect for the coaching staff and players.
City’s investment follows last year’s establishment of the New York City Football Club, which will enter the Major League Soccer competition in 2015.

I,too,am not that disappointed about Uniteds cup exit.....better to lose on penalties in the semis than get stuffed 4-0 by Citeh in the final. The penalty taking was abysmal but well done to Sunderland who I think will avoid relegation from the Premiership comfortably.
In the wider context of things it doesnt really Mata great signing.....I'm surprised Chelsea have let him go.I wonder if there has been some gentlemans agreement between Mourinho and Moyes for Rooney to move the other way in the summer with United receiving cash or someone like Ramires as part of the deal ?

Oh Dear! ...... Is It Getting That Bad?
Listen here:Manchester United fan makes drunken emergency call to police to reach Sir Alex Ferguson
Police have revealed a drunk Manchester United fan was so upset by the club's latest setback that he dialled Britain's national emergency number and demanded to speak to former manager Alex Ferguson.
Greater Manchester Police said they received the 999 call from a man in Crumpsall, north Manchester, shortly after United had sensationally lost a League Cup semi-final to visitors Sunderland on penalties at Old Trafford.
Clearly, it was all too much for one fan, although a GMP statement suggested he would be better off calling Old Trafford if he wanted to speak to Ferguson..........

Has he lost the plot since his retirement? From the BBC. Quote
Sir Alex Ferguson still believes Manchester United have a chance of retaining their Premier League title.
The Old Trafford club lie seventh in the table, 14 points adrift of leaders Arsenal with 16 games remaining.
But Ferguson, who stepped down as United manager last May, insisted the league champions are still in the hunt.
