In the Conference leaders Luton increased their lead to 9 points after trouncing Hereford 7-0 in front of a crowd of 7,111......several matches postponed again due to the atrocious weather which means some teams now have quite a backlog of fixtures eg.Braintree have only played 25 compared to Halifax's 34....April likely to be a very busy month for them.

An excellent weekend for Scunthorpe.........they trounced struggling Portsmouth 5-1 whilst Chesterfield were beaten 1-0 at lowly Wycombe.Rochdale won 1-0 at Exeter and are just 1 point behind joint leaders Chesterfield and Scunthorpe.
Cheltenham had a good away win at Newport 1-0 to maintain their safe mid table position.
Portsmouth looking a good bet for Conference football next season

hard to believe they won the FA Cup back in 2008.
And in the Conference,Luton thrashed Nuneaton 5-0 away and go 11 points clear at the top.
In the Championship,Leicester had an easy 3-0 win over Ipswich to keep their lead at the top of the table at 8 points.

In the Conference a crowd of 7,526 saw Luton Town hammer Wrexham 5-0 to go 14 points clear at the top.
Braintree beat second placed Cambridge United 1-0 in their first home game since December due to a waterlogged pitch.Barnet go third after winning 2-1 at Forest Green.
Grimsby were beaten 2-1 by lowly Southport and slip to 9th in the table.Macclesfield won 2-1 at Hereford to keep their outside chances of the play offs alive.

In the Championship Leicester had a comfortable 3-0 win over lowly Charlton and are now 13 points clear of third placed,Derby County......automatic promotion looks almost certain for them now.
Same in the Conference for Luton who are 14 points clear and beat Alfreton yesterday 3-0 in front of a crowd of 8,412.
Very tight at the top of League 2,still.Rochdale won but Scunthorpe were held 2-2 at Newport.Chesterfield play Portsmouth on Monday.Cheltenham stay clear of the relegation pack after beating Bury 2-1.

Oxford are in play off contention but will be without the experience of Dave Kitson up front for them tonight. I have a feeling that Town will need all the advantage they can get to get a result tonight..

Draws seemed the order of the day..

Oxford Utd 1-1 Cheltenham
Scunthorpe 2-2 Southend

Not too much damage for promotion hopefuls Scunthorpe though as top of the table Chesterfield also only managed a 1 all away at Wimbledon. Burton & Fleetwood both recorded away victories to put extra pressure on the top 3 as it is still all to play for..

Yesterdays draw meant that Scunthorpe have now set a club record of 20 matches without defeat but too many draws are enabling the likes of Burton and Fleetwood to threaten their automatic promotion place.
I bet the air around Nong Sim turned "Delerium Blue" last night when Southend came back from 2-0 down !

In the Conference,Luton maintained their large lead at the top with a 1-1 draw at second placed Cambridge United in front of a 6000+ crowd but Macclesfields slim play off hopes seem to have vanished with a 2-1 defeat at Kidderminster.

Cheltenham v Torquay

Plymouth going well of late & just outside the play off zone. Scunny just have to play until the final whistle, although 20 matches without a loss is fine form.
Torquay are 7 points away from safety. No odds on the draw then....

Good win by Scunthorpe. although they left the goals pretty late. As Chesterfield put 3 past playoff hopefuls Oxford they remain in second place though. Rochdale & Fleetwood also win to keep up the pressure.
No assistance by Town for struggling Torquay, who are starting to look doomed to drop out of the league...Town go up to 11th. but are 5 points away from a play off spot & look like it will be a season of consolidation...

Last night in the Conference,Luton were surprisingly beaten for the first time in 28 matches by a late goal in their home match against Woking.However,Luton remain 14 points clear of second placed Cambridge and still look certain to gain automatic promotion.
In League 1,Sheffield Uniteds 10 match winning run came to an end when they were held 0-0 at fourth placed Preston.
A decent enough point for the Blades,though,but they are still 10 points off the play offs.

In the Conference there could be quite a scramble for the final play off place with only 8 points separating Kidderminster in 5th from Wrexham in 17th.

So the unbeaten run goes on n on ... Scunny beat Burton 1 nowt to consolidate a top three automatic promo spot .. and that will do nicely come the end of the season dont wanna be in the blooming play offs if at all poss .

The Robins play their part in an entertaining affair with the once great Wimbledon AFC.. 3-3 .
