Cameroon v Croatia 5am Thursday morning...same again, whoever loses is out of the tournament.
As an expert :D , I`m expecting both Holland and Spain to win by at least 2 goals, before Croatia win 1-0 in the last game of the night.
Hopefully Home Cable will fix their cable so I can watch the games.

Almost right - Rab is actually the fitness coach and has encouraged the players to take up smoking to enhance their chances for Catarrh.

Did you know that the Dutch women's hockey team outplayed Australia 2-0 in the world cups final last week. Another victory of the Dutch and tonight they will beat the Aussies in Brasil with at least 5-0 .......

I'm glad there is no qualifying tournament for a World Cup Finals Predictions tournament - I for one would not be going to the Final's in Catarrh as I suspect some other members on UM would be in the same boat.

Spain 0 Chile 2......The World Champions are out  but they can have no complaints as they were,if anything, even worse than when they were hammered by the Netherlands. They were 2-0 down at half time but never looked like staging a dramatic comeback and the match petered out tamely.
Spain have been top of the pile for 6 years but the writing was on the wall for them when they lost 3-0 to Brazil in the Confederations Cup Final last year.
Australia 2 Netherlands 3......The Aussies did really well and even led 2-1 at one stage with "Little Timmy Cahill" on the scoresheet once again. The Netherlands always looked to have something in reserve but were given a fright.
Australia have a chance for some glory in their final group game against demoralised Spain, although Cahill will be absent after picking up a second yellow card.
Cameroon 0 Croatia 4.....Not much to say.An easy win for Croatia against a dismal 10 man Cameroon side.Song was sent off and,in stoppage time, the Cameroon and QPR full back Assou-Ekotto appeared to try to headbutt his own teammate....one of the few moments of passion Cameroon showed in the whole match !

Tonights/tomorrow mornings games....
Colombia v Ivory Coast 11pm Thursday night
ENGLAND V URUGUAY 2AM FRIDAY MORNING
Japan v Greece 5am Friday morning

So a late night or very early start for the England fans in this must win game. Two mediocre defences and some good attacking players could lead to their being quite a few goals in this one.....lets hope most are for England ! [-o< [-o<
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Well played the Aussies , gave the Dutch a real run for their money , goal of the tournament so far by Tim Cahill - brilliant strike , sad to see them go home and i fear the 3 lions may be joining them come tomorrow .

Spain were dire ,,,Chile were excellent .. stayed up for that one tho not the Cameroon v Croatia game .

Predictions later - England ??

Is a joke permitted?
Before the match NL vs AUS some players asked Van Gaal: "change your hairstyle".
Van Gaal: "why"
Players: "you look like an Aussie. You wanna go home or not?"

THE TOP 10 HIGHEST PAID COACHES AT THE WORLD CUP

This is taken from a website called infototive.com and tha amounts quoted are in US Dollars $.
They state this is the amount earned for managing teams at the World Cup but,I think, must include the qualifying period as well. Some real eye openers.....

1.Fabio Capello(Russia),11,235,210 $.....by far the highest paid coach. He was rubbish for England where 11,000 baht per month was what his results justified.Nice work,if you can get it,for being a flop,eh ?

2.Roy Hodgson (England),5,874,570 $....puts an end to the myth that "our Woy" is struggling to get by on a budget of 250 quid a week ! 8)

3.Cesare Prandelli (Italy),4,322,010 $
4.Phil Scolari (Brazil), 3,973,730 $
5.Ottmar Hitzfeld (Switzerland), 3,745,130 S......I know Switzerland is a rich country,but....
6.Joachim Low (Germany), 3,602,460 $.....quite a cheap option for such a big footballing nation.
7.Vicente Del Bosque (Spain), 3,386,270 $....not earned his money this time around, has he :(
8.Louis Van Gaal (Netherlands), 2,738,060 $
9.Alberto Zacherroni (Japan), 2,727,480 $
10.Jurgen Klinsmann (USA), 2,621,740 $
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Those numbers are grotesque Zids. Are they correct? Surely not? Is this what these guys get paid a year rather than just for the World Cup?

I don't follow football but the impression I have often had is that one of England's problems is that it's a bit thick when it comes to choosing coaches. Perhaps decent coaches don't want to coach England as it's likely to damage their CV? I recall Glen Hoddle making remarks that made English football seem really moronic.

I met a French woman in my office today in NZ and she said she doesn't really follow football. We were discussing who might win and what needs to happen for her to get more interested (e.g. France in the semis or the final). When I mentioned England she started laughing as if English football was totally hopeless. She automatically said France was far better than England. I guess that's how the Europeans see English football - a bit of a laugh.

Which country will get the best value for money with the required result. Lifting the cup. Some must already be asking question as their teams go down the gurgler. The aussie with the multicultural name has done his bit I think after the dutch result. =D>

Well done to the Aussie lads putting on a bit of a show and allowing me to watch the clock for 4 minutes before being over run by the orange machine. Given the youth and inexperience of our team our effort has been great but neither the Dutch or the Chileans look to be in the same class as the Germans, French or Belgians.
It would be great for our young guys, minus the talisman Cahill, to get a result against the Spanish who must be shattered after their dismal showing so far.
Now were out I can focus on me second team the mighty red devils and I would love to see them progress and play the arch enemy dutchees at some stage. I'm sure they will give them a nice old touch up.
And finally Tim Cahill - simply a legend. It's been a pleasure watching you in the green and gold.
