Nine-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi was taken to hospital with chest and stomach injuries following a training accident on Thursday, his Yamaha team says.
The 38-year-old was hurt while motocross riding in Italy.
He was diagnosed with "mild thoracic and abdominal trauma" in a check-up.
"No fractures have been detected in any part of the body and no serious traumatic pathologies were found," the team said.
They added a further update would follow later on Friday.
The next round of the MotoGP championship is the Italian's home grand prix at Mugello on 4 June.

RIP Kentucky Kid.
Did you see Rossi bottling it on the last lap last week at Le Mans? Pretty much the same when he slid off the course in the final race of 2006 thus missing the podium and giving Hayden the title. Much as I love 'The Doctor', I think he should pull the pin like Guy Martin and retire gracefully while relatively still ahead and in one piece. They don't bounce as well as the younger kids do!

His retirement was only announced on the MotoGP web site this morning. This will be his last season.

Mrs N has just asked me to take the “46” & “Doctor” graphics off her bike.
No wait, hang on, she hasn’t a clue what they mean
