Both Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley had forgettable weekends. Leicester City look odds-on favourite for a quick return to EPLishness while Leeds on the other hand...

Looks like a bit of a circle-jerk there DM with all that effusive thanks to the dodgy bugger just leaving the building. Talking of building, no mention of their beloved football pitch or the previous dodgy bugger either. Will there be any meaningful fan participation on this brave new board? You know, the ones that contributed to the GFM?

Welcome Michelle Harness new owner of SUFC :D

Indeed seems everyone is united in the fact Mr Hilton has left the club .. he actually did the honourable thing and waved any fee and his investment to date which is at best sketchy.
New board of 5 has 2 fans involved and with the HMRD bill being cleared along with other debts it seems the club is safe from admin and extinction ....

The Glanford Park issue being sorted with a deal being done with former former owner Swan .

Hope that helps Jammy.. sorry theres no real negative news to report so you can carry on gurning and lets hope the wind doesnt change AGAIN.

Nice wins for Blackburn, Accy Stanly and Peterheid over the weekend.

Eberdeen picked up their first European point in 16 years but still bottom of their Europa Conference group.

I think the heavy rain that saw travel advisories against travel to Scotland in the Englander press may have caused Fort William's weekend game to be cancelled. Still second place in Caledonian League though.

And nobody gives a toss about the Evertoons in this thread either.

Blackburn and Accrington Stanley had another grand day out but Burnley didn't (again).

North of the border saw most games cancelled due to being drookit, including Peterheid so they still sit atop League 2.

Not really grass roots but, Thailand look like bowing out of the the World Cup at the first hurdle. They got a pretty tough draw with China, South Korea and Singapore. A win in Singapore doesnt really compensate for a home loss to China because they'll get nothing from their games with Korea.

Oz scraped home against Palestine in a clash of footballing giants.

African football has always fascinated me for the wrong reasons. The misconception of them playing wonderful flowing football is just that, a misconception. 20 goals in 15 qualifying games yesterday suggests that FIFAs inane attempts to extend the World Cup and increasing the number of African qualifiers to 9 will produce more dull games in the finals.

Morocco weren't at all dull in the WC but generally, I would agree. There's always the great expectations of Egypt or Nigeria that play out boring draws whereas the rising African stars like Cameroon and Ghana have been pretty much a flash in the pan.

Here's the current African top-ten but maybe only the top three or four would get a look in

Despite the plaudits from the football luvvies, Morocco were very dull at the last World Cup. Their games in the knockout stages stunk the place out unless you enjoyed seeing France, Spain and Portugal pummelling a stout rearguard action with the latter 2 teams showing how toothless they actually were. Could be wrong but I think Morocco scored 1 goal in those 3 games.
