NEWCASTLE CHRONICLE: Shola Ameobi has given a further indication he is ready to quit Newcastle United this summer - by revealing a clause which was preventing him from playing international football with Nigeria is "no longer in effect."

Strewth .... now even the Geordie's are "jumping ship"

Striker Wayne Rooney, 27, feels he is being "driven out" of Manchester United after "five months of negativity" which amounts to "constructive dismissal".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23336090

Mmmm maybe some help with some of the 'big words' there. :D
Are we seeing the spectre of Sir A still in the background here.
How much does it cost Wayne if he has to ask for a transfer??
Mr. M. probably still remembers all too well that Wayne jumped ship before when he was in charge.
You have to feel that he will start at a club other than ManU for the upcoming season..

Its obvious Rooney has some mental / ego problems ,, nothing is his fault ,,the fact hes played crap for months and constantly whinging is testament to Sir As decsion to leave him out on many occasions ,, he is way over rated BY HIMSELF as well as many others .... OMO.

Bob will the "het mister" lower league thread be getting a mark 2 ???

From Sky's "transfer clockwatch"

Emanuele Giaccherini is excited by the challenge awaiting him at Sunderland after completing a move on Tuesday. The Italy international has joined the Black Cats from Juventus on a four-year contract.

" I hope this new adventure can push me to the World Cup. I will do my best playing in the English championship, which is the best in the world."

Someone had better tell him that he needs to play a season in the "Premiership" before he gets relegated to the "Championship" ................ but, if that's his target, you have to say he has made a good choice

Wayne Rooney: Manchester United dismiss Chelsea bid
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23342660
Chelsea offered £10m in cash plus a player, either Juan Mata or David Luiz, in part exchange for the 27-year-old.
I can understand them not wanting Sideshow Bob but Mata is a good player.
Should have snapped them up.
If they get Rooney, keep Mata & Torres it will be like watching Snow White & the Seven Dwarves when Chelsea take to the pitch.. :D :D

FOOTBALL

Chelsea release a statement regarding Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

The statement says: "Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney.

"Although the terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is apparently being briefed to the press in Sydney, the proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."
Some one being a bit naughty somewhere by the look of things... :D

United should take both Mata and Luiz in return for Rooney plus 5m (paid by United).
Rooney is upset because he is no longer regarded as the no.1 striker......well,he's paid 250k per week so should be willing to play anywhere for that amount of money.
Luiz would be OK as the defensive midfielder,Bob =;
Chelsea fans are very quiet on this topic :-k

Fabregas perhaps.
Loved the story today. Rooney to Chelski, Mata and 10 mil to United.
It was that outrageous I wanted to believe it.

Mata and Luiz won't be going anywhere, just newspaper speculation and football club nark's ringing into newspaper sports desks with something they have overheard. I do think Moyes has fcuked up by letting Rooney know he is second fiddle at Manure, now Rooney's position is untenable.

Rooney is 27 now and should be at his peak but he is nowhere near the player he was when he joined United 8 years ago.
If he were to see out his contract at United he would sink even further into mediocrity and would be finished at 30.
I could see him becoming another Gazza.
But if he were to get a new challenge,be it at Chelsea or somewhere else,it might just revive his desperately flagging career and the money United get from his transfer would enable them to buy the two quality midfielders they so desperately need.
By the way,Jose Mourinho is saying its "Rooney or bust" so I reckon a deal is quite likely.
