Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
Perhaps they should use more of that gray smoke during the season ........ if opposition keepers couldnt see anything they might have a better chance to score a few goals ........ either that or open a branch of "The nail bar" in the penalty area so DCL had a reason to stay on the pitch
Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
747,Lilac mut be very proud,(not) the Bluenoses staying up, they've had a great season , staying in the EPL ,what a load of tripe he is supporting, they won't be that lucky next season.Irish Alan wrote: ↑May 30, 2023, 6:37 pmThey were out in their tens celebrating being 17th.

Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
My wife and I were at a club, 'Drink to Love' in Khon Kae last night to celebrate her birthday. One of the distractions there was a large screen TV, and I sat through the entire Brighton-Aston Villa match. The guys in the Scunthorpe uniforms won 2-1 although I missed all three goals. There was a whole lot of falling down by both sides, which made me wish I could have seen a real sport like baseball instead of soccer. Just as we were leaving the Leeds-Tottenham game began. By the time we got to the exit it was 1-0 in favour of the Hotspurs. I missed that goal too.

That's the one big upside of baseball ........ if you miss an important bit coz you happen to be having a swig of beer there are another 30 or so "innings" to watch the guy chuck the ball at the other guy who either hits it and jogs round the pitch or misses it and walks round the pitch.

Not quite, but I get your drift. You seem to be arguing that baseball is almost as boring as soccer. One big plus in baseball is that they don't have sponsor's script written all over the uniform.stattointhailand wrote: ↑May 31, 2023, 9:12 amThat's the one big upside of baseball ........ if you miss an important bit coz you happen to be having a swig of beer there are another 30 or so "innings" to watch the guy chuck the ball at the other guy who either hits it and jogs round the pitch or misses it and walks round the pitch.

Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
At least with football in the UK (and most of the world) the highlight of the fans day takes place inside the stadium as opposed to having a bbq in the car park
Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
So only those annoying Evertoonians celebrating dodging the bullet should know better where in reality, there's been DOZENS of celebratory pitch invasions by loads of other teams?stattointhailand wrote: ↑May 30, 2023, 5:47 pmWould anyone like to have a stab at understanding why the brainless morons at Goodison Park think that invading the pitch (after being told a hundred times since they did it last year) was an acceptable thing to do, despite it being against the law
Pitch invasions “cannot continue”, the chief executive of the English Football League has told supporters, after an end of season marred by disorder.
Trevor Birch has written to fans after an EFL campaign that finished with Nottingham Forest reaching the Premier League at Wembley in front of 80,000 fans. The celebrations followed play-off matches disrupted by fan invasions, and Birch says that “tougher but proportionate measures” will be arriving in the summer to deter fans from going on to the field.
Hold on... Forest reaching the Premier League? Yes, since at least LAST YEAR, the gormless EFL have been railing at the 'brainless morons' from all sorts of lower league teams who have been doing it with impunity.

Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with parking the RV in the allocated space at the Astrodome and having a belting afternoon BBQ and cocktails while Warren Moon's Oilers got their arses handed to them by the Browns. Security were always polite and would advise us at least half-an-hour before they closed the gates which was usually around 10 pm.stattointhailand wrote: ↑May 31, 2023, 9:59 amAt least with football in the UK (and most of the world) the highlight of the fans day takes place inside the stadium as opposed to having a bbq in the car park

Re: EPL 2022 / 2023
Please note .....I have absolutely no intention of moderating anything
As for pitch invasions, it was made perfectly clear after Patrick Viera got attacked that it was "against the law" to enter the playing arena. Prior to then it was "high jinx" to run onto the pitch and celebrate, but from that point onwards fans have been told and loud speaker messages have been broadcast that it must not happen.
There has to be a points deduction for any teams who still fail to control their fans despite clubs/fans being perfectly aware they are breaking the law
