Yes, he should have seen the red card immediately, and then banned at least for the rest of the World Cup, and maybe forever. Disgraceful.

Suarez will probably end up one day as President of FIFA if he maintains his very low standards of behaviour. We gotta cut him some slack as he's just trying to boost his CV for a later run as President.

Suarez is an AR***O**E of the first order. Ban him from the World Cup (at least) for life. Football has no place for -----'s like him.

On another note Why did Hodgson not reshuffle for the second match giving others an opportunity?

Shaw and Barkley look bright prospects for the future in the England side.

Centre back slots remain a problem though.
Here's tae us, wha's like us, damn few, and they're a' deid. Mair's the pity!

England 0 Costa Rica 0.....Hard to know what to make of this game as Costa Rica had already qualified for the knockout stages and,on this performance, you have to wonder how on earth they beat Uruguay and Italy....maybe they didnt need to get out of third gear against England ?
But there were some positives for England,I thought.Foster gave an assured performance in goal,18 year old Shaw looked very composed on his debut and 20 year old Barkley showed some nice touches.Sturridge ran his socks off up front and should have been rewarded with a goal, although he did miss a couple.
But surely its the end of the line now for Steven and Frank...... =;
Italy 0 Uruguay 1.....Kept flicking over to this match and it seemed a real dour affair with the Italians looking for the point that would send them through.Justice was maybe done when Uruguay got the winner with 10 minutes left and it was too little, too late for the 10 man Italians, whose coach Prandelli has resigned.
But,as has been mentioned, the game was overshadowed by Suarez's "hunger" for an Italian defender. If found guilty he should be banned for the rest of the tournament....great player but an absolute nutjob !
Colombia 4 Japan 1.....the Colombians and their female fans maintained their impressive form with a comprehensive win over Japan. They will fancy there chances against Uruguay in the next round.
Greece 2 Ivory Coast 1.....quite a shock this with the bearded Greeks qualifying for the knockout stages at the expense of their African opponents.Greece won with a controversial last minute penalty from Samaras and now meet Costa Rica, thus ensuring their is a less fancied team left in the quarter finals.

Tonight/tomorrow mornings matches....Thai times.
Bosnia-Hercegovina v Iran,11pm Wednesday night.....surely only a diehard fan like Khun Paul will want to watch this one ! :D
Nigeria v Argentina,11pm Wednesday night
Ecuador v France,3am Thursday morning
Honduras v Switzerland,3am Thursday morning
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Suarez could face up to a TWO YEAR ban ........ (wonder if Barca & Rael will rethink their valuations?)

If you or I were caught 3 times biting people, we would undoubtedly be institutionalised for Psychiatric reports, so how come this sicko is still allowed to walk free.

Now what was Woy's statement ..... it will give the rest of the squad a chance to show that they should remain in the setup as we go forward ........... oh well never mind, they will still get another chance anyway

LYM. With your psychic powers, you certainly were proved correct as regards the Uruguay/Italy game. =D> I suggest it easily qualifies as the worst of the Group games on the grounds of boredom, nastiness and petty fouls. Italy, particularly, exhibited all the old negative approaches to the game, for which they were infamous two/three decades ago. Thankfully justice was done when the referee finally decided to apply the rules when an Italian player failed in his attempt to break his opponents leg, and was punished, (for his failure? :-s ), by being sent off , and Uruguay seized the advantage offered by scoring as the game, thankfully, neared its end.Surprisingly, neither Pirlo nor Suarez were very effective or show any HUNGER for the game; although it seems, from the avalanche of posts, many members would beg to differ on that viewpoint  .
Seriously,if the relevant authorities are able to establish BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT ,based on studying all the available technology and other evidence, that he is guilty yet gain of biting an opponent, then Suarez must be punished to the maximum possible extent, to maintain the integrity of the game. BUT also, this supremely gifted footballer must be helped in every possible way, while being shielded from the prejudiced and "holier than though' uninformed element always quick to condemn and crucify others from the comfort and safety of their armchairs. Genius has its own heavy burdens to be bourne, and of which we mere mortals have no concept or understanding and, all to often, little caring. How unfortunate it is that so many have so quickly forgotten, or never learned, the lessons from the unfortunate and sad lives of such as George Best & Gazza.

C'mon Uncle - get your story correct.

Mr Kelly describes him as a "frothing lunatic" - which is probably closer to the mark (than "raving"), given its association with rabidity. 8)

I think there may already be precidents set for what to do with 'sportsmen' ? who bite their opponents:- ....

Tyson was sentenced with a permanent suspension from boxing and his license cancelled forever. Tyson was also fined $3,000,000 and had to serve a period of community service.

A rugby player who bit off a piece of an opponent's ear during a match, after the referee had awarded a penalty, has been jailed for a year.
Flanker Gareth Jones, 25, of Cardiff side Star RFC, left opponent Daniel Hobbs, 25, of Rhiwbina RFC, needing 20 stitches to reattach his earlobe.
Jones, of Rhoose, had denied wounding with intent, but was convicted after a trial at Cardiff Crown Court in August.
Sentencing him, Judge Stephen Hopkins described the attack as "barbaric".
Jailing Jones for 12 months, the judge told said: "This remains an appalling piece of gratuitous violence.
"The unprovoked and mindless, deliberate, biting of an opponent's ear during a rugby match can only be described as a barbaric act."

Wonder if footballs "powers that be" will as they say, "put their money where their mouth is", or more than likely they will do as they always do and "put their mouth where the money is" :-"

It's not in the league of Tyson or the rugby player. It's kind of childish rather than menacing. He has some issues but we knew that. He's done it at exactly the wrong time with the world watching. Presumably any penalty will include some counselling.

There will be far more harmful and more deliberate fouls/tackles than this in the tournament. Of course his form will count against him and he'll be out for a period. His career shouldn't be at an end for this although he might get whacked by Liverpool if he's not leaving anyway? He will pay a high price for this.

Possibly an investigation with sentence (some sort of ban) passed after the current WC has finished ,,, im thinking hes gonna go with "it was accidental" as his only way out .

After biting Chelsea's Ivanovic the English FA came up with a solution for Suarez's taste for players on the opposing team , could FIFA go the same way ?

Columbia team are being offered free rabies injections prior to their last 16 clash

A FIFA spokesperson told Press Association Sport: "We are awaiting the official match reports and will gather all the necessary elements in order to evaluate the matter."

Obviously waiting for the descision from the Quatar panel of judges :-" :-" :-"

Suarez is claiming that Chiellinis shoulder hit him in the mouth  but, given his past record for this sort of thing,he might find that he has bitten off more than he could chew this time around !

Whatever FIFA decide to do with Suarez .....

It HAS to be a FOOTBALL WIDE ban (20 games/30 games/1 year/2 years).
It's no good banning him from playing internationals and letting him play in the league (Both Barca & Real would love that), as he would not have to jet off round the world and there would be no chance of him returning with an injury.
It has to hit him in his pocket. As it's his 3rd offence, it HAS to be the max possible...... so

2 years ban from all football activity (playing/coaching/TV etc etc)

GT wrote:- " It's kind of childish rather than menacing"

agree GT and rather a nice way to put it ....... funny enough one of the female presenters on Sky News today pointed out that her 3 year old had been banned for life from her local kindergarden for biting another child.
