Hi all, my first time posting on this tread, so a few words of introduction. I have recently come to live in the Udon area so don't know my way around yet.
For football I have no particular allegiance to any particular team, mainly because where I come from the nearest team was about 60 miles away. I'm a standing on the touchline on a Sunday morning type of guy. Maybe I should start to follow one team!
Reading the thread, it seems that there are a few teams that the posters support, so obviously they get most of the mentions. And I like the banter side of things.
Do any of the guys have get togethers? I'm not really one for the bar scene, but I enjoy a drink.
Anyway, Good luck to all the mentioned teams.

Boot.

Barnsley 0 Leeds 2
Norwich 1 Preston NE 1
Scunthorpe 2 Charlton 0.....Scunny just 2 points off an automatic promotion place.
Forest Green 1 Cheltenham 1
Lincoln 3 Port Vale 1......Vale back in trouble.
Maidenhead 1 Macclesfield 1......an 88th minute equalizer denies Macc top spot in the Conference.

Excellent win for the mighty whites against a poor Barnsley side.
A point of interest in the game was both team captains wareing rainbow armbands and rainbow corner flags. (For rainbow, read gay.) Obviously both teams offering empathy and support to our near neighbours at Scunthorpe. :D
Indeed Adhoc ... i too noticed the rainbow corner flags n armbands worn at the Barnsley v Leeds fixture yesterday .. expaline earlier by both a Barnsley and Leeds supporter it is to bring to the fore homophobia with in the game which had seen an all time high in the Yorkshire area .. gay bashings and anti social behaviour , disgusting language and even some exposing them selves ... THIS WAS BY THE LEEDS TEAM PLAYERS AND STAFF !!!! and the fans simply have had enuff .

So much so the mighty whites will having a controversial change of strip for the remaining games this season ... below is the image just released by the clubs official website ....PASS THE SOAP     ... EVEN MORE SHOCKING IS THE CHANGE OF NICKNAME FROM THE MIGHTY WHITES to The BROWN HATTERS

In Leeds, we always thought that Scunthorpe, the Brighton of the north, was the place for 'upstream swimmers'.
Indeed, in its heyday of steel mills was the inspiration for this:

Being serious (for 5 mins) DM, all these "candidates" are currently in positions where they would be privvy to information which is kept from Joe public. They all have good contacts in clubs/media/FA etc, so I'm wondering if there is a lot more to this possible demotion due to financial irregularities than we are led to believe, and it is that probability that is putting them all off .... just sayin' like

Agree totally, Statts. Something is obviously very wrong at Everton. Nobody wants the job, and can you blame them?
I think that next season we will be taking a lot more about Everton on this thread.

Thank you those welcoming me to the thread.
I could be interested in becoming a fan of one of the smaller teams. As I have said before, I'm not really interested in the big mega money teams of the premiership. And Leeds United are probably a bit too big a club for me to follow.
Are you serious about the Scunthorpe membership pack? I think the bit about it being a topical millionaires playground is you just having a joke...?

No, Scunthorpe really is a t(r)opical millionaires playground. Leeds (the peoples club) offer a similar membership but, no joining fee. Just give your bank details to my friend in Nigeria and he will sort you out.

Welcome to the thread.

Another though game for LUFC tonight, home to the villans. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now, so looking for 3 points.
