I disagree. This is the EPL banter thread although you boys stretch that a mile. The other thread is for more solemn football discussions. Admin thought there was a demand for this distinction and thought it worth trying. I can't understand why you guys aren't trying to take advantage of it.

Less than one day to make his entrance here; with an attempted 'serious post', of course. \:D/ Now there is certain to be a large increase of his 'banter posts' on the serious football thread  . Attention; attention; always that need for attention.
IMO a,serious footy.thread would be great but looks like ain't gonna happen anytime soon .
Thanks for the clarification ... i thought most um.members had got the measure of GT already .. little or no real knowledge of the game his only interest in posting on the football threads is to goad Alan 747 in to a rely n watch the fallout. .. pretending to show any interest NOTABLY IN EVERTON falls by the wayside when he GT then childishly slithers off to post on Ud Social what a hoot it is to disrupt Umap threads .. similarly on on the political threads etc ...perhaps his life is bit sterile dream posting on a Thai based forum from.afar ????
Back.to.the footy ..as this thread is not about GT .. much as he wishes it was .
Dms pre season bet being placed is a retirement or new car winning bonanza 20 quid accumulator so all have to happen
EPL relegated Brighton
Championship promoted Notts Forest
L1 promoted Wigan
L2 promoted Leyton Orient
Dm.
Oh dear, here come the usual complaints from the usual members. Pity it is necessary to remind even the experts here,( :-" [-X ), that the correct procedure is to report the post to the moderator. Meantime my thankful farewells to all those incredible comedians, and devoted affiliates of this thread.

Excellent post , as usual , particularly your summary regarding you know who.
Not so sure about your end of season predictions. I advise you against making any plans until after you actually receive your winnings. \:D/
Mention of Leyton brings back memories for me. I played for them, as an amateur, for half a season .I especially remember the palatial stadium , the often cold baths and the dressing room toilet buckets. I was never able to find out where they put the cows on match day! :-s :-k
Well.never knew you played at all Den ...let alone for Orient .
I fancy them to.suprise this year ..good squad backed by big money and even Harry Kane involved as a shirt sponsor... i wont be ordering my new car just yet and will.gladly spend a whole day totally naked if my mega bet comes in .
Thanks for spell checking .. my fat fingers playing up again.
As a footnote to.the game itself ...How times and the facilities have changed .. the kits the balls and the baths ..let alone the crazy wages ( 700 mil contract for Messi ???? and law changes VAR ! )
Don't think.it makes heypeth of a difference.which thread is which ref banter or not so banterous .
GT right on cue ...I REST MY CASE Mlord ..
Dm
Another bit of trivia. At the time I was offered and turned down, contracts by a couple of clubs, the wages were pretty well standard throughout the First Division. Ten Pounds if the team lost; eleven pounds if it managed a draw, and the awesome amount of twelve pounds for a win. Of course you were expected to maintain your heavy leather boots, including cleaning and dubbing, (there's a long forgotten term) and restudding them. Anyone remember the leather studs used, and the rigmarole necessary to go through to replace them. :-k In the famous words of Maurice Chevalier: 'Ah yes, I remember t well'

It might be a banter thread but you should still use the quote function properly. The last post as written makes Drunk Monkey look like he's posting that he's a whizz at cleaning football boots. Now, that just won't be true.

Both of course. Just like the other ,wanna be, comedians, and just as I forecast. :? [-o<
Both for me and hopefully the same for 747man. I'll be trying to follow the different rules in each thread. I hope the forum's slower learners will catch up on what's happening with the two threads this year. I like Udon Map's new approach. Let's give it a go.

I note at the time I'm posting there isn't a single OFT post in the serious football thread. The older Mathusalah posts remain. All OFT's posts seem to have been deleted for being outside the extra rules in that thread. More care please OFT.

Presumably written tongue in cheek, although I find it hard to believe you are capable of intentionally expressing real humour.

I note at the time I'm posting there isn't a single OFT post in the serious football thread. The older Mathusalah posts remain. This is clearly on the wrong thread. So the effort you promised in the previous paragraph, didn't last long ! [-X All OFT's posts seem to have been deleted for being outside the extra rules in that thread. To which posts do you refer, of which you appear to have special knowledge :-" Why has it not occurred to you that my 'silence' has been because none of the posts have been of sufficient interest to me, to cause me to want to post. Seems your power complex now seeks to deny me even that right! , More care please OFT.
:D \:D/ Yes I have learned from my mistakes in getting caught up in your unpleasant games. As from later today I will no longer even open, let alone post upon, this thread. Thereafter I will restrict myself to the EPL thread AFTER putting onto my newly formed 'foes' list, the names of You; Dezzer, 747; 711 and Niggly. Any of your other adulators who come to llght, can simply be added to my list :D Thus when you flood that last mentioned thread, as you have done already, I will not see your posts, and you will be unable to destroy my enjoyment of interacting with genuine fans. GOOD BYE GT93 :D :D :D \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

This thread is not about publicizing your personal English Reading Comprehension difficulties, or lack of knowledge, regarding the difference between a direct quote and paraphrasing punctuation.
This is the EPL Banter Thread. [-X [-X :-" :-"
So open an appropriate alternative thread.

I was trying to help you OFT and to improve the quality of this popular football thread. It's not clear if you understood what I posted about the quote function. It's also not clear if even now you understand the difference between this banter thread and the other one that was made especially for posters such as your good self.

Your second to last post isn't pretty. Hopefully you aren't going to post like that too often. I don't have a problem with you foeing me.

Providing Everton get all 3 (Doucoure/allan/James) I can see them pushing on this season (may even be as high as 11th)
