PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
West Ham and Millwall have a history of violence between them.Last night it seems there were hundreds of nutters and too few police. It certainly wont have done much for our chances of hosting the World Cup in 2018.
At least Jon at Chern Chim will be happy that Scunny managed to beat 6 men and 1 cripple !
And valiant must be a very happy man today after Port Vale beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 to earn the chance of playing against the giants of the Premier League (Spurs,Chelsea,Arsenal and Man City) or the mid table clubs (Man Utd and Aston Villa) or the relegation threatened (Everton,Liverpool and Portsmouth). =D>

I reckon there's a good chance Shawcross will be going, hence the need for replacements.

Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Nice result For Chelsea..3-0....i mean, i didn't think it would be any differant...well maybe 4.
Can You Dig It Dug.?
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Yeah, competent result by Chelsea BM.....
I think they will be happy with just a win in the return fixture though. Burnley are not going to give too many points away freely at home....

4th!!!! Oh for the season to end now for you Baz-stokiebaz wrote:2 great signings for us this week tuncay and huth from middlesboro, also in talks with danny collins from sunderland who we play today shud be a good game they started well..
United a lucky win against Arsenal. Only point the game really proved to me is that good goalkeepers are hard to find, good, young goalkeepers almost an impossibility.
Spurs sneak a win against Brum in the 5th. minute of extra time. Looks like luck is with Harry this year -
Liverpool with a pretty undeserved win against Bolton. Referee very harsh in sending off Davis when Bolton were in front & looking reasonably comfortable.
OH the FA qualifying kicked off yesterday. Where the dreams of all the small teams of having a game against the stars of the Premiership (& kicking their butts) begin....First result out....Almondsbury Town 2-1 Cinderford So the dreams of some mates of mine over for another year already
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
In Korat last night so only watched a bit of the Chelsea v Burnley match.Wanted to see the United v Arsenal encounter but not on in the hotel and everywhere in the vicinity closed.
Hoping for better tonight cos' I'm in a hotel in Chaiyaphum which definitely shows live Premiership games.
So its Portsmouth v Citeh at 7.30 pm and take it from there.....
Still,a win is a win for United just like it is for Liverpool.
Next week is it Spurs V United ??Chelsea should be clear at the top after that

A good analysis of the game between United and Arsenal & of the 2 teams in general, by Phil McNaulty.
Worth a read by any United or Arsenal fan & (to me) a good example of what professional sports writing is all about.

I really believe the title is Chelsea's to lose this season - just have to see how they handle the pressure & physical side later in the season....

Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Managed to watch all 3 games on Sunday.....
City won a lot more convincingly than the 1-0 scoreline suggests although Nugent should have nicked a point for Pompey near the end.
Everton came from behind to beat Wigan 2-1 who were a bit unlucky again.....Aston Villa comfortably beat Fulham 2-0.
No Premiership matches this weekend because of the Internationals....

Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Chelsea on top on their own after a 2-1 win at Stoke but result of the day was probably Man Uniteds 3-1 win at Spurs.United were a goal down to Jermaine Defoes opener but clawed into the lead through Giggs and Anderson.Paul Scholes was then sent off to give hope to Spurs but Wayne Rooney continued in his rich vein of form with a third for United.
An excellent win for Man City 4-2 over Arsenal and Liverpool thumped Burnley 4-0.
Other winners...Blackburn,Bolton,Wigan and Sunderland.
Next week....Man United v Man City and Chelsea v Spurs.....should be interesting !

Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Have just watched the Man City/Arsenal game again on True 1 and appalling behaviour by Adebayor when you see the subtle scrape over the ankle of the Arsenal player(Fabregas?) with the heel studs from his boot and his celebrations after he scored, running to the other end of the pitch and mocking the Arsenal supporters. That used to be called 'inciting a riot on the terraces'.
He is a disgrace, what has made him so bitter against his former employers?

Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Looks like the FA have read your comments pompui - are going to look into both incidents today...
Agree that it looks very childish & bad sportsmanship especially as (looking at it from the outside) his former club gave him much & he has done little but take... If anyone had an axe to grind about the affair it should probably the Arsenal!!
Very average games yesterday.
Villa defeating their home town rivals 1-0 &
Everton continuing their bad form against Fulham. Both teams looked desperate for anything resembling a striker in what I thought was a very poor game displaying very little skill. I am sure that Everton will pull themselves around but looked a very average team on this outing.
Just a comment on the Man U game.....Scholes sent off so United pull off the Bulgarian shirker & stick on a mid-fielder - United back to 10 men as they had been all game up till then... Fergie would be better off playing Owen or another attacking mid-fielder

Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
gutted after conceding in injury time again as we did last season but if we keep that spirit up we should be ok again.. =D>
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
I thought Fergie was bolstering his defense by taking the Bulgarian out!For such a dandy midfielder,I just can't understand Scholes tendency to foul by leaving his feet.We will miss him for the Man City game!
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
Manchester United 4 Manchester City 3
Wow,some game with Michael Owen scoring the winner in the sixth minute of injury time !
City came from behind three times and when Bellamy made it 3-3 in the last minute that looked to be that.
A very entertaining game but some shocking defending from both teams.Toure and Lescott were atrocious at the back for City and Foster and Ferdinand made schoolboy errors to gift City goals.
Goal of the match was Bellamys 25 yard strike that made it 2-2.
But Chelsea go marching on with an emphatic 3-0 win over Spurs justifying their tag as title favourites.
On Saturday Fernando Torres scored two as Liverpool beat West Ham 3-2 and at the bottom looking grim for Hull and, especially,Portsmouth.

A few high scores last night.....
Liverpool 6 Hull 1,Spurs 5 Burnley 0 and the biggest surprise,Wigan 3 Chelsea 1
Went to the Living Room to watch the games last night.Early doors,Portsmouth v Everton.....poor stuff.
At 9pm they showed Liverpool v Hull.As that became a rout they switched between that match and the Chelsea and United matches in the second half.
So whose sitting on top of the Premiership this morning then ??

Man Utd. of course!!! =D> =D>
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
YES NO COMPLAINTS LOST TO A BETTER SIDE..
Re: PREMIER LEAGUE 2009/10
A pretty disappointing set of results in the Premiership this week (also in the Fantasy League and IKTS)
I fancied Liverpool for at least a draw against Chelsea but they lost 2-0.
Man United had to rely on an injury time own goal to scrape a 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland.
Arsenal put on an exhilarating display of attacking football to thrash Blackburn 6-2.
At the bottom Portsmouth and Hull both won.
Burnley maintaines their 100% home record with a 2-1 win over Birmingham.
The other three games were drawn.....Villa v Citeh tonite......Internationals next weekend.
