Is Jimmy carrying an injury? doesnt seem sensible to just give your best bowler 11 overs out of 72

He's just a very ordinary cricketer without the conditions and an new/old Duke. If he was Australian he would never have played test cricket, probably would never have played first class cricket. Harsh but true.

For someone who "would never have played first class cricket" theres an awful lot of baggy green batters who've looked behind them to see a heap of firewood where their wicket once was

Not really Statts. He's never really done much damage unless the conditions have really suited. And he would never have been close to test cricket if he was an Aussie. You know that.

Agree with you MJL. He's consistent in his line and length but, not destructive..... a bit like Glenn McGrath

I reckon the Aussies will go one up in spite of the weather. I'm still smarting over the crazy declaration. Another 50 runs would have made a big difference.

England 273 all out leaving Aussies just 281 to win in just about 4 sessions

Note there have only been 2 victorious 4th inn run chases bigger at Edgbaston

England chase d down 378 in 2022
South Africa chased down 283 in 2008

Edgbaston 2005 - 407 runs on day 1. Aussies chase 282 England win by 2 Runs. Edgbaston 2023 - 407 runs on day 1...." What a naughty thought

From a sunnier perspective, England only need 7 wickets... and Ali needs a new finger.

And it's going to rain.

Match delayed due to wet outfield

Well they shouldn't have let Steve Smith stand on the outfield when phoning his mum to cry about being given out

Restart expected at 14:15

we have lost overs (although that was inevitable, given we will have lost around three hours from the day). They are aiming to get 67 in, with tea at 4.30pm and play going up to 7pm - or whenever the last hour/15 overs is up
