Brazil's solid start to the tourney with a brace from Richarlison that probably brought tears to 747's eyes.

Mind you, despite the stunning acrobatics of his second goal, the Guardian commentary suggests that he's still a tool.

"It was Vinícius Júnior and Neymar who combined for Richarlison’s goals, and this trio – with Raphinha also plugging away gamely on the right – look on early evidence like the most balanced and deadly attack in Qatar: pure trickery and pure speed, with a sharp cutting tool up front. ..."

He cant be that much of a "tool" tam ......

He was bright enough to see that getting splinters on his a*se benchwarming at White Hart Lane was a better career move that playing week in week out for the Evertons

OK, how about some of Westers' famed football punditry as recommended by Jack.

USA beat England tonight after Kane gets the screaming ab dabs and Rashford goes awol to feed kids free school dinners.

Wales step in and beat England after Kane's Imodium doesn't work and the Principality goes through to the next round.

Look for England to beat the U.S. by at least two goals, and to beat Wales by at least 2 too. Iran likes to defeat the U.S., and should win, 2-1.

What about the Socceroos and Tunisia?

It would be nice to see Tunisia win; however, one has to respect the Australian flag and head-of-state so, Go Australia Go!

I'm giving up on the predictions as my record demands me to leave it to the experts like 747 and Izzix.

I am very disappointed that England failed to defeat the United States of America.

Considering England have been playing competitive football for nearly 140 years, it would appear that against a Nation for who Football is a minor national sport we only managed what we did. English standards are appalling , suggest the team goes home before they embarrass themselves even more

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/11/ ... all-soccer

but the term “soccer” was not originally American. Like the modern sport itself, the name originated in Great Britain.
the formal name of the sport is “association football”. British university students in the late 19th century nicknamed it “soccer”, a twist on the second syllable of “association”.

The US were the better side .. England played at best ok which at this level is not good enough... keeps the group very interesting for the last round of games next Tuesday.

Quite surprised the loggies could only manage a draw against Ecuador....again very tight group except fir hosts Qatar who were emlimated ..but at least scored a goal.

Having watched numerous YT vids of WC fans who attended the Eng US game all seemed very down beat .. commenting

England were second best
Were slow no intensity
Tired esp in midfield
Best player was Maguire .. a shock
Many others like Sterling so transparent
Southgate to defensive
Didnt change things soon enough
Manager mistakes tactics ..ie no Foden
Sounds very much like the old England is back
Yes we will.probably squeak thru the group but
Just how will.England fare agaiinbst the likes of Brazil n France ? Spain Portugal etc ...

The list was endless n all negative ..only positive clean sheet n nicked a point ..

I stayed up.to watch and agree totally with the England fans comments .. as did Roy Keane n Gary Neville who both labelled it rubbish by England

ITS NOT COMING HOME AFAIN on that awful.showing and IMO time for Southgate to go ..

Do you really want to change managers at this point in the tournament? England seems to be doing better than Argentina and Germany at this point. Take it easy for the moment. Fire him, if need be, at the end of the World Cup of Soccer.

Almost time for another invocation of Scotland's non-appearance in Qatar, eh?

Go on. You know it will make you feel better.
