Well, I set the alarm for 2am to watch the England match on my recently purchased 32 inch 6,000bht TV package, which up till now has been a worth while but reluctant outlay, what a disappointment, should have stayed in bed.
Observations, Pickford? Weirdo, what's all that arm waving, angry face at his own team mates.
Shaw, pretty solid, Saka, busy but not much progress, Maguire, ok but his passes always seem to go behind the receiving player, Grealish, always good at attracting free kicks and when he came on caused a few problems when taking on the US defence.
Iran obviously didn't turn up in the first match, lucky for England as that's probably gifted them through to the next round.

He's got his little y-fronts and he's got his little vest, Chaz Jankel, 1998. Mash it up Harry.

Anyone taking bets yet on which of Englands matches will end 0 - 0 (There always seems to be one)?

2021 0 - 0 Italy
2020 0 - 0 Scotland
2019 0 - 0 Denmark
2018 0 - 0 Switzerland
2017 0 - 0 Croatia
2015 0 - 0 Slovenia
2015 0 - 0 Slovakia
2013 0 - 0 Costa Rica
My case rests your honour ......... glad I didnt bother to get up

Now let me see thats what? 5 (FIVE) 0 - 0's this WC, and we are not even half way through the groups (historically most are during tourny knock out stages) The record is SEVEN.
Format has to change , as in league format a coach will accept the odd defeat to win most games, but in this short format its virtually one defeat and your out it many cases so coaches like Southgate will always play to not lose rather than to win =;

It's not coming home (again)
NEW: Oxford mathematical model predicts route to the men's FIFA World Cup ⚽️🏆

The model - created by Oxford Mathematics researcher Joshua Bull - forecasts:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wales to go out in the group stages
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England to lose in the quarter-final
🇦🇷 Argentina vs Brazil in the semi-final
🇧🇷 Brazil to beat Belgium in the final

The model simulated the group stages one million times and took the most common outcomes.

The algorithm then simulated each knockout game 100,000 times.

The model has been created by analysing team rating data from http://eloratings.net, focusing on every first-team international game since 2018.

In this video, Joshua explains the model:

So it was calculated by a computer then ......?

Congratulations to Australia or USA or whoever actually wins the thing.

Wouldn't trust a computer to predict DM's next fart

No AI model is of any value given such little data.

The soccerooooz squeak past Tunasia .. in another so so game .

Not been many really good exiting games yet all a bit predictable except the Saudi n Jap.results .. hoping Poland v Saudi A ihas a few goals.

Seems the tournament is a tad unusal... no booze fans not allowed entry cos of fancy dress being worn and now .locals complaining to the police abiut fans singing ..

Hopefully lesson learned fir Fifa when choosing future locations ..i doubt it tho..

Denmark may be leaving Fifa ..if so possible others will follow including England ...interesting and this may allow Scitland to quailfy fir a future WC that has lower quailty teams playing in it ..

Tam Tam ..there is hope

Wait n see the qualifying groups statts ..

https://youtu.be/ZdzXmXzxLv8

Heres a other great vid re Southgate .. needs watching all way through , many good poìnts brought up one saying Southgate is not at the level.of the players and does not know how to manage n.get the best from.them ... he Southgate has too many favourites n playing an injured Harry Kane n not Phil.Foden ......some even wanting him.sacked mid tournament ..something that has never happened .. always a first time .

At least we are there at the WC..unlike some others
