Mmmmmm. This ISN'T a wind up. Now a devious league administrator might just consider this is an option worth holding back until the last few weeks of the season and, if in with a chance of winning it, ban any other player within striking distance. [-X  :-k
Hmmm......maybe souness,beer monkey and Brian have cause for concern.......surely not ! :D
No worries for the rest of us also-rans :(

Far too early to assume anything, I suggest. 200 points separates the whole league, average of about 40 points a week. (Ok Som Nam Na started late, I think). Lots of time for things to change, although admittedly those at the rear would really have to go some to make an impression. For example, I've had a good run (oooppps, that's done it!) but luck has played a great part with an individual's star performance, even an auto sub, coming to my rescue, rather than the whole team performing. Maybe I haven't kept in touch, but the January transfers don't really seem to have kicked off yet, but they'll probably be 1,000 on the last day of the month. as usual! The transfers will surely shake things up.

It's all proving good fun (does pulling your hair out over team selection count? :-k ). Certainly provides added interest in watching the live games.

Not easy to make up 200 points though......with the amount of planning and watching whats what spending hours in front of the screen shall i do this or that...luck on the day, with a small amount of skill and of course a little gamble is more like it.
And agree i have never been so interested in looking out at games/players....if a player farts i like to think i will hear it.
And Som would be doing ok....but he has made 'hundreds' of transfers and has hemorrhaged points each week...but it gives me a chuckle when i see the 7-8 transfers each week. ;) go for it Som..!

Good game good game....

Same same. Have 3 players out, Ireland, Arbeloa and Cahill and another 3 doubtful. Kirkland, Young and Robinho. :(

It tends to make for an "interesting" Sat evening.
18:30 Transfer window closes.
19:00 approx Site re-opens with all team selections available.
19:00-19:20 update everyones team on excell sheet, including opponent in "head to head" etc.
19:20 print off teamsheets
19:50ish arrive at bar to find that I've missed the first half of the early game.
20:00 onwards Agony/Extacy time as I try to keep track of points being scored by my lot or opponents.

Cant ever remember getting so wound up by a substitution as when Anelka came on.
The clock said 25mins when he was "warming up", and I was thinking "damn he's going to get more than 60mins, and 2pts rather than 1pt. Then it got to 28mins and 29mins, and I'm thinking ...."Don't kick the bloo*y ball out of play, don't let him on" Then a huge relief as the clock said 30mins and 3 secs when he came on.

Rumours abound that he had just left a "hotel/resturant" after having a "meal" with a girlfriend, and that they were being chased through the tunnel by several paparazzi on motorbikes wearing blue shirts ............... Police say there is no conspiricy theory, and the fact that the journalists all worked for the Moscow Daily Sport is purely a coincidence.

My strategy for the year has been: Image

In 10th place out of 13 teams but that could (ok, WILL) change. My comfort zone is 12th or 13th if Som keeps it up. Five months left in the season and have been enjoying it. Watching some of the games with much more interest. Chelsea-Man Utd tomorrow should be a good one.

I would like to offer up a prayer for Peter Crouch and my other 10 poor unfortunates to keep them free from injuries or a lightning strike. Also any chance dear Lord that they can score a few goals. Thank you amen.

Sods law. Got rid of Barry of AV, this week he gets 7 points. I even signed Murphy from Fulham this week, another mistake, 0 points. Only have 9 players contributing to FF this week :(

When you have luck like I do you are resigned to the fact that sh*t happens. I actually have friends who don't like giving me a lift because when I'm with them 75% of traffic lights turn red as we reach them. When I'm playing pool one of the most common phrases you here is, "great shot......oh bad luck" as the Q ball just nicks another and with it's last roll of momentum drops into a pocket.

As friends have said to me in the past, "If I had your luck I would have topped myself before now" :(

On a brighter note, congrats Statto to you and your wife.
