Are you going to put the flag pole up yourself?

Best being part of this forum by placing the intellectual challenged on foes list. A lot less post to read and a great time saver.

Sorry dean - I only know the words to God Save the Queen.

Instead, I found this rousing chanson balladée, with suitable subtitles, Feel free to sing along. :D

Will be barracking for the England team from here on in. Come on you pommy bastads.
That would be equivalent to cheering (rooting?) for Collingwood. Never gunna' happen.
Jack I always barracked for the poms at the world cup before we became Asian and got to go ourselves. I remember Freedy Villiers of World of Sport giving the first division results on Sunday mornings and those old black and white Match of the Day shows on thr ABC in the 1970s. We rib the Poms, but they are better to watch than the Europeans and South Americans who flop all over the ground and cheat (well not the Germans, they ---- all over the poms generally and in all aspects of the game). So it's 'go the poms' for me. I hope they beat the French.

Seems that they are very keen to "March on"

perhaps if they spent rather less time marching on and more time stopping and fighting they wouldnt have to rely on others to win their country back for them so often :-"

While the Poms wallow in the ancient history of 1945, and 1966, Les Bleus can do a quick results check, and come up with 1998 (France) and 2018 (Russia). :-"

^ Spain should win under normal circumstances but the crowd will be well behind Morocco. As the only Arabic Team (and African team) all the Arabs and Africans are behind them now. They will give it the fight of their lives.

Back to the important game, England v France, to me this feels like the final. Probably the toughest game we will face, even when we do win!

It would be nice to see Morocco and Switzerland be victorious today, wouldn't it? Yes, England looks to be the best team in the tournament to date, and should win the Cup handily so long as they do not wear those silly blue uniforms.

Whatever happened to Roumania and their star, Hagi? He was a good one.

Does anyone know what time the Moroccans are flying home tomorrow?

They can't get a flight out for another week or so. To pass the time, they'll try and schedule another game.

Looks like the Swiss expended far to much energy kicking Serbia for non-football reasons in the 16 eliminator. Never should have gotten that far. Same as Poland.

As there are now a couple of down days b4 the last 8, can someone please explain why the next cup will be 16 groups of 3 teams? Doesnt that open itself to the return of the Germany/Austria situation? With 3 teams in each group one team has to have finished before the last two take the field and can manipulate the result in their favour
eg :- Team B beats team A 1:0, Team C beats team B 2 - 0 Prior to last game we already know that Team B have -1 GD
If team A just happenned to beat Team C by 1 goal both team A and Team C would have a zero GD with 3 pts and go through :-k

It is nice to see Hagi is doing well. His two friends from the Roumanian basketball team are doing worse teaching physics and physical education at one Toronto public high school. Two other Roumanians are teaching there too, and one is retired. They are all from Transylvania. One of the five started her teaching career at Bran Castle, the ancient home of Vlad Dracul.

I reckon a Brazil win and a Holland win just for sh!ts and giggles. I'm a footballing expert so you Herberts are at a disadvantage.
