What!!! After that mis-hit shot by Mascherano ended up being a perfect pass.
Anyway, only half time. Plenty of time for a Leprechaun to pop up in the middle of the Liverpool goal in the next match and stop a goal. :D :D

Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1
As a neutral,I enjoyed the game.Chelsea started brightly then faded.Liverpool were in the ascendancy and it was no surprise when the man of the first half,Dirk Kuyt, gave them the lead just before half time.
In the second half Liverpool should have added to their lead but Chelsea enjoyed more possession towards the end of the game without really threatening.
That was until John Arne Riise took on the role of Didier Drogba in the 5th minute of injury time  oh,dear !
I think Chelsea must be slight favourites to progress as Liverpool will have to score at Stamford Bridge.I think its quite a few games since they did that but someone can correct me if I'm wrong ??
Anyway,another early morning finish coming up....Barcelona v Man U.

A good defensive performance by Utd. Thought both teams were poor in front of goal.
Rooney had a shocker. Seemed to me he was sulking for being played out of position.
Utd will change the way they play at home and should score a couple of goals.

I hated the game although Man Utd. should have the advantage now.MU did pretty good on the defensive end,but it looked like they were playing for a draw.Ball handling and midield defense definitely was better by Barca.Van De Sars kicks were the worst that I have seen him do in the past! The passing of the ball by MU was atrocious!I have never seen the give away the ball so much!

We definitely did not get the calls from the ref either.I feel MU was lucky last night and played on their back heels all night.

Fergie must have had a good reason for playing Rooney on the outside, but for me,it was like he was never on the ball and Telez was running around chasing the ball in a manner that looked like he was working on a red card!

Maybe,I am not sophisticated enough in understanding the game,I just didn't recognize Man Utd. last night by their play.

It was like waiting all night for the axe to fall and feeling jubilant with the reprieve!

Hope they don't play that way at Old Trafford!

Barcelona 0 Manchester United 0........a decent enough result for United which could have been even better but for Ronaldo's penalty miss in the second minute.
The match itself.....well,United started brightly enough but were soon put on the back foot by Barcelona....but first half had one or two chances, did OK.
The second half.....did United string more than two passes together in the whole half ? Just one shot from Carrick was the sum of their attacking play.Barcelona completely dominated without threatening that much, though.
I've never seen Rooney have such a quiet game.I was surprised Sir Alex started with both him and Tevez,to be honest.
Outstanding defensive play by Ferdinand,Hargreaves and Evra all through the match.
So after the first legs both games are all square and everything to play for.
Chelsea v United,Liverpool v Barca,United v Liverpool,Barca v Chelsea.....anything is still possible.

Anybody notice (can you miss it?) the giant poster outside D2 advertising the Champion's league? Battle of the big 4... (Or battle of the big 2 and Chelsea and Man U too.) Ahem seriously... Is it just that they liked the big poster or are they showing the games at that time of the morning?

Stan,I'm glad that there are United fans still up watching our triumph ! :D
Manchester United 1 Barcelona 0
An absolute screamer from Paul Scholes to win it :D
Again Barcelona lots of possession without being really threatening.
Messi, man of the match but Uniteds back 4 superb.....United always the more likely to score, particularily first half,Ji Sung Park & Nani.
Good luck to Galees and Irish Alans lads tomorrow.....an all English final, fantastic for the Premiership :D
Off on our holidays just a few hours from now but back in Udon in time for the final in Moscow :D

Yep not a bad game Stan, not a Man U fan but as an Englishman I am more than happy to see an all English final :D
Cracking goal by Scholes, think even he was surprised when it went in

I know what you mean about these late nights Alan!
I am now left with a conundrum, do I seek a late beer or an early breakfast?

Combining the two is probably the answer

Well done Utd. I thought it might end in tears. It was a tense finish for me, so it must have been a lot worse for you Utd fans.
