Then they used a petrol leaf blower to clear it up.

Re: Cricket 2023
Exciting or foolhardy? The Jury is out!
Re: Cricket 2023
What on earth did they have for tea?!

Re: Cricket 2023
I listened to the tea session and it did strike me that the choice of shots was foolhardy and unnecessary- hopefully not too damaging and England can hit the 400 mark later

Re: Cricket 2023
Wonderful days cricket at Lords. Bazball wickets flying all over the place. Stuart broad getting smacked in the head by a bouncer and then his captain refusing to review an LBW for him that was shown to be out. Old Jimmy having a nap at mid wicket when when Uzzie pops a lolly up to him. You can have your Egbaston rubbish that was the prefects days entertainment.

Re: Cricket 2023
I'll say again, I hate Bazball and all it stands for. Test cricket cannot be played like England are doing at present and, full credit to Australia for showing us how to play a 5 day match. I predicted 5-0 and that's what will happen until someone moderates this nonsensical approach.
Best image of the day for me was when the camera panned to Sir Geoffrey with his head in his hands.

4 fa 49. Starks ball to Pope and Paddy Cummings to Root and Brooke, who appears to be a deer in the headlights, is as good as cricket gets.

Re: Cricket 2023
Yep. Great bowling.
Conversely, if we lose by 15 runs (not gonna happen!), I'd be asking Stuart Broad why he was bowling at the body of a man who couldn't use his feet and was leaving his wicket open.
In other news, I was sad to read that West Indies have failed to qualify for the World Cup. I remember chatting to a local on one of the islands about 20 years back and he was saying that all the kids were playing basketball and he feared for the future of WI cricket. Looks like its come to pass.

Goodbye!
Scotland beat the West Indies by seven wickets
What a day of cricket. Scotland's World Cup hopes are still alive, they've beaten the West Indies for the very first time in an ODI, and they did it style.
Skittling the top order to 81-6 was incredible. Brandon McMullen and Chris Sole looked unplayable as they tore through the West Indian batters.
Chris McBride's first ball wicket made us nervous for about five minutes, before McMullen showed us - again - what a fine cricketer he is, with a score of 69. Credit must also go to Matthew Cross, Scotland's other opener, with a score of 74 not out.
A historic day in which Scotland finally felled a cricketing colossus.

Even more minority than football sadly.
However a bit like England, you're reliant on South Africans. Perhaps we British cricket fans should all offer up a vote of thanks to the discriminatory SA cricket quota rules.
Reading that back, I'd mistakenly typed "SS cricket quota rules". As Alanis said, "ironic"
