German Bakery on Adunyadet Rd.

Post by jingjai » May 12, 2006, 4:03 pm

Just finished a delicious lunch (saurbraten) at the German Bakery Restaurant and Deli. I spoke with Deiter, owner and chef, about carrying some Mexican food items in the deli section of his establishment. He's off to Bangkok next week and will be bringing back his usual food items plus some Danitas Tortillas and salsa to sell at the deli. Plus some malt vinegar for Val. He's open to carry more farang specialty food items if there is a market. Stop by and have a chat with him. He's a very nice man, plus a great chef and baker!

I spoke to him as well, he is open to stocking non perishable items from Bangkok. So if you have a desire that won't cause him to go broke might stop by and ask. I got his last can of refried beans, abut he said he is going restock soon.

Sadly Dieter passed away some time ago now.
His wife still runs the restaurant & bakery though & I am told it is still very popular. The bakery side especially for anyone liking 'German style' breads.
They have rather re-branded the bakery under the name
Udon Bread
Here is their advert on Udon Map that may well help you out - as well as having contact details...

Although their web site does appear to be non existent, so I am not sure if the email is still valid..
