I run Microsoft Security Essentials, and I've never had any warning from them going into Villa's website. I've been going into Villa's website for years.
Microsoft Security Essentials is very cautious in their warnings for virus, spyware, and other malware.
Anyway, I'm not qualified to discuss things IT  .

Take my word for it in regard to Villa's opening hours, all their stores open by 09:00.
Hopefully Udon's store will follow suit.
That was my point...

Stopped by to grab lunch there today and had a peak. They're putting in a refrigerated section. It looks like a meat department or deli. Hopefully they'll have some decent steak like you find in the Bangkok Villas or at Rimping in Chiang Mai.

Mak, where did you find our the opening date?

Looking forward to pricing oop some of the same products, probably on Monday 18th March, including bottled imported Magners that Mr Mash sells in Udonsville, at their Bangkok outlet on Sukhumvit and posting the info before they open on March 24.Last time was there no sign of corn tortillas just loads of flour tortillas (El Charro)which of course is also sold at the old Big C. 8)
Will of course use them for my cheese fetish 8)

A member has asked me if they have cornmeal at the Sukhumvit Villa.will ask them on Monday hopefully. If so then will drop it off at Chernchim on friday for people to purchase awaiting the opening of Villa in Udonsville 8)
Hope they suprise me with competitve prices for their imported foods.Hope they are not just looking to get a 50% profit on goods with their pricing schedule.they will soon find out that taking the piss of farangs on the price, especially in Udonsville, will leave a sour taste in their mouths :D

Thers no way CC can compete wit the quantity /huge range that VM will stock , CC will be sticking to its tried n trusted frozen and imported goods range all top quality well known brands best sellers with all of them considerably cheaper than VM ... that said thers nowt wrong with a bit of healthy competition and VM will be an asset for Udonthani .....

But one can not rent your advertised shop for food and drink. I was thinking that's a good location and small/big enough for someone who can make tasty kebabs/shoarma.....

Looking forward to the opening. Much more convenient to me than Tops. Have shopped their stores in BKK and Pattaya since 2006. Great news that they've finally recognized that they already have a built in following of customers in Udon!

My trip and my observations re trip to Villa Market in Sukhumvit this morning 8)

Prices first on selected goods and positive/negative personal views at the end.

Heinz baked beans 135 baht
Ladys pies 110 (240g)
Baxters beetroot 185 (310g)
Sharwoods mango chutney 185 (360g)
Haywards pickled onions 185 (710g)
Marmite 149 (125g)
Vegimite 189 (220g)
Branstons pickle original 119 (360g)
Carr cheese biscuits 120
Australian hot english mustard 165
Bisto gravy granules 120 (170g)
Bisto gravy powder 89 (227g)
HP sauce exp 2014 119
Thatchers Katy 155 (500ml)
Thatchers Rose 167
Thatchers Gold 150
Thatchers green goblin 150
Magners pear 159 small,215 large
Magners Irish 159 small,215 large
Aussie chilled Lamb 1790 per kilo
Aussie chilled shoulder Lamb 690
US chilled choice striploin 1180
Danitas corn tortillas 59 (small size tortillas)
Crosse and Blackwell mush peas 59
Laser sardines 67

Positives to me were the cheese selection, extensive bread selection, bagels in 4 varieties 3 for 64 baht,German product selection,El Charro/Old El Paso/Danitas Mexican selection,Patak Indian sauces, cheaper HP price to Tesco/Big C,salmon selection including Japenese style, frozen meat selection.
Negatives to me were limited corn tortillas from Danitas only, loads of flour tortillas for sale,no cornish pasties on the shelves to compare prices, limited tea selection to Tetley,Dilmah and Twinings and of course a security guard following me around the aisles
Probably missed something off the list, apologies forgot to look for the cornmeal. 8)

ps I am sure there is a good samaritan who can copy and paste this post on the other channel, not a computer expert in that sort of thing and am lazy to type out again :D I will do a reduced report though 8)

You hit the nail on the head here KopKei. Its a more a native English/American/Aussie speaking forum and of course they are interested in what is available for them. For the French, German, Swiss, Dutch or Indonesian food is less interest, so it seems. Since they are sponsors of UM I may say here that the new owners of Harmony Bar Restaurant is doing extremely well with their German food and their buffet. Also Nobis with German food and 652 with their French Food are doing well.

How is the French shop on the ring road? Are they doing well?

But for a lot of people its handy to have ViIlla Market in Udon.

Well, Landmark Plaza opened today... but NOT Villa Market. My wife called the phone number posted (02 662 1000) which I believe is a Bangkok number. She spoke to at least two different people. The best info they could give her was "open by the end of the month". I saw Mak's post about the 24th, but TiT, we'll see. If anyone has additional info, please post.

BTW, I didn't find parking to be a problem at all. There's a very large multi level garage. The turns are a little tight, especially for a big SUV or pick up, but no problem for a medium size sedan.

Certainly will be convenient for us... only 1.9km from door to door.
Every day I wake up is a good day.

I just got off the phone with the Villa Call Centre in Bangkok, (0899911199) and the opening date is set for 31 March, as Dr. HFH stated. Store opening time will be the same time as the centre opens). Was told they will have many promotions available such as, buy 1 get one free, or buy two get one free. If products that are available in Bangkok, but not found in Udon Thani, customers may place special orders and they will be sent to the Udon store. That's good news.

Sargento shredded 6 Cheese Italian
KRAFT Classic 4 Cheese
KRAFT 4 Cheese Mexican

You seem a fan of 'food-like products'.

I was informed tonight that the turns in landmark are meant for cars NOT SUV's therefore either park outside or don't visit. A well thought out car park with limited space, that was a description by a Thai friend.
